Student Placement for 2017-2018
When considering student placement for the upcoming school year there are several criteria we consider to ensure academic success for all of our students.
Our job is to ensure that there is a highly-qualified, passionate teacher in every classroom who believes that all students can learn, and challenges each child to meet his/her potential. Each teacher provides a safe and secure environment for students, and each teacher works with the others on the grade level to plan rigorous yet differentiated lessons.
However, even though our teachers provide input on unique student needs, if you have a concern, we want you to be able to share that information with us. You can do so by completing this electronic form. All forms should be submitted no later than Monday, May 8, 2017. We will not be able to accept forms after that date. The form allows you to write about the type of learning environment that will be most successful for your child, along with any additional information that should be considered. Please note,
we do not honor specific teacher requests in the placement of children at Dyer.

Volunteers are needed for the upcoming Buy One, Get One Free Book Fair. We anticipate a lot of students shopping, because it is a BOGO book fair. We cannot have a successful fair without the help of wonderful volunteers like you! If you have time to volunteer any time between May 5 - May 12, please follow this link to the Sign Up Genius in order to pick a time that works for you. Helping the children is a lot of fun. There is not a volunteer discount at the BOGO fair, due to the nature of the sale. However, you will have the satisfaction of helping us raise money to buy more books for our Media Center. We appreciate your help!
Bears Baseball Spring & Summer Camps
Now that the spring season is in full swing- pun intended- the Mountain View Bears High School Baseball program wanted to announce our spring and summer camp dates, as well as a few slight changes. In the past, we have done an 8th grade camp- for rising 9th grade players- at or near the last week of the school year, but we understand this is a difficult time for many, and also cuts into the Memorial Day weekend in many cases. So we will be moving this one-day camp up to Saturday, May 6, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM- lunch will be provided for all players. We are also going to be expanding this camp to include ALL current Middle School players. Our staff continues to work very diligently to identify and be part of our youth players and programs, and it is our goal to reach out and get to know more of our players at an earlier time. We are also currently communicating with our MVAA baseball staff and coaches, who continue to do a tremendous job building a strong foundation of character and baseball playing ability with our young players, to generate more ways for our high school baseball program to be involved with our youth teams- more to come!
Our Summer Youth Camp is open to grades K-7th and will take place June 5-7, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM- lunches will be provided. Please see the attached camp flyer, and feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions. I am also attaching our 2017 Spring Schedules for all three teams- Freshmen, JV and Varsity- hope to see you at The Top of the Mountain soon!
To all of our Future Bears- have a great spring, play as hard as you can at all times, and always do the right thing! Go Bears! WE ARE MV!!
