Welcome to Our Newest Team Members
Tom Sobczak - Assistant Principal
Hello!
I hope all is well and that you and yours have had a fabulous summer. My name is Tom Sobczak, and I am thrilled to be entering my fourth year at Plato Academy. It is my distinct honor to join the Plato Academy Tampa team as the new Assistant Principal.
First and foremost, I am a father and a husband. My wonderful little toddler will be turning two right before the school year starts, and I will undoubtedly share pictures of my beautiful girl. To know a bit more about me, I was born and raised in Wisconsin, and I am a huge Packers fan. I enjoy watching and playing sports when the opportunities arise, but I also love to read a good book. I have read everything from the Count of Monte Cristo, to the Harry Potter series, and to Michael Crichton's Jurassic Park. Finally, I am proud to say that I earned my B.A. in History from the University of South Florida and my M.Ed in Secondary Administration from Concordia University. Both of these degrees, in conjunction with my previous nine years in education, have prepared me for the wonderful journey that lies ahead.
With that said, it is my privilege to be joining such a fantastic community in Plato Academy Tampa. I firmly believe that the path to excellence arises through successful partnerships between parents, teachers, and students. I avidly look forward to building relationships with all our families, their students, and our staff, to create the most effective and efficient learning environment possible. I expect all our students to be high achieving and to consistently give their best effort, no matter the outcome. Even the greatest mountain can be beaten by the consistency of a river. You have my promise that I will work hard to serve our students, our staff, and our community each and every day.

Landon Lee- Third Grade
Hello! My name is Landon Lee. I graduated from the University of North Carolina Wilmington with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in English Language Arts. This is my first year teaching at Plato Academy, but my fourth year teaching 3rd grade. It is my favorite grade to teach! My teaching philosophy is centered around hands-on learning and giving students an opportunity to make real-world connections. I love providing my students with many different reading materials and showing them that reading is fun. Outside of the classroom, you can find my husband and I working on our house and playing with our dog, Moose. I am excited to join the Plato Academy family!
Crystal Fox - PE Assistant
My name is Crystal Fox and I'm going to be the new PE Assistant at Plato Academy. I taught at a private pre-school and VPK before taking a job traveling abroad with the cruise industry and I am very excited to be back in Tampa continuing my teaching career. I've always been a very active person taking part in mediums such as softball, dance, fire dance, acro fitness, stunt performance, and yoga.
I believe movement is a great way to teach children about health and wellness at a young age and is also one of the best mediums for learning teamwork and cooperation skills. I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone, let's get moving!
Tiffany Morris - Art Teacher
Greetings! My name is Mrs. Tiffany. Since an early age I have had a passion for art and
being creative. This will be my first year as an art teacher and I am excited to dive right in
and see where our imaginations will take us!
For my education I studied art and theatre earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual and
Performing Arts. I went on to work backstage for Busch Gardens on the broadway style
show, Katonga as a dresser. Later, I moved to Orlando to study make-up artistry and I
worked as a Professional Make-Up Artist for Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights. I
also worked for Cirque du Soleil’s, La Nouba as a Wardrobe Technician.
I have lived in Tampa, FL most of my life. I have a lot of fun with my imaginative and lovable
7 year old, Una. There is so much that we learn from each other! My parents are Mr. Bob
and Mrs. Lucy. I have one sister, Heather, that lives in Germany with my curious 2 year old
nephew, Theo. I have loved mermaids since the age of 6, after an adventure to Weeki Wachee
Springs and I later became a certified Siren of the Deep. I enjoy swimming in my mermaid tail
any chance I get. In my free time I love to draw, paint and create various things.
“Exercising the imagination, experimenting with talents, being creative; these things, to me, are truly the windows to your soul” -Bob Ross
I look forward to making this a fun and safe year!
