Eagleridge Enrichment Program ~ January 2022
Principal's Message
I hope your new year has gotten off to a healthy and fresh start. Things are back in full swing here at Eagleridge. I'd like to extend a warm welcome to all of our new families who just recently joined our program. We are so glad to have you here with us!
The State of Arizona requires all 3rd-8th grade students enrolled in a public school to participate in yearly statewide achievement assessments. This does apply to Eagleridge students because we are part of Mesa Public Schools. This assessment was formerly called AzM2 and is now the Arizona's Academic Standards Assessment or AASA. The State of Arizona does not provide an opt-out option. All students who are present at school during the designated testing window are required to complete the state assessments. There are two test windows for us:
January 31-February 4: Writing Stand-Alone Field Test (SAFT)
- Students in grades 3-8 will take this non-graded writing assessment. This is a computer-based assessment where students will respond to one writing prompt. You can click here for a list of FAQ about this test.
- Students in grades 3-8 will take 3 assessments in the areas of Writing, Reading and Mathematics.
- Students in grades 5 and 8 will also be assessed in the area of Science.
We are currently developing our testing schedule and will share that with you in February.
Please help us maintain positive relations with our neighbors during student pick-up by keeping the driveways of neighboring homes clear and accessible. Our drive-thru line get pretty lengthy, and we want to ensure that the people who live on Medina have no trouble getting in and out of their driveways. Thank you for your help!
Stay healthy and thank you for your continued support!
