Staff Spotlight: Nancy Milford

How long have you worked at Cuyahoga Falls Library?

37 years, almost 30 of them as a professional librarian.

What do you like best about your position?

As the Assistant Coordinator of Adult Services, I am sort of middle-management. That means that I am able to answer a lot of questions about the library, but I also work at the public service desk. I still have the opportunity to meet a lot of people and answer some very interesting questions.

Is there something about you that might surprise people?

I have never had a drop to drink (of the alcohol variety), but that has never stopped me from enjoying parties and dancing the night away! (Library parties are the best...always good food at those).

Who are your favorite authors?

Ray Bradbury, Mary Doria Russell, Tasha Tudor and Isaac Asimov. Not only are they amazing writers, they are amazing people who have influenced my life in so many ways.

What are your hobbies?

Reading (a wide range of things), watching old movies, classical music appreciation, enjoying anything science-fiction/fantasy, studying history, practicing genealogy, collecting vintage clothing and doing whatever my cats tell me to do. I also am in charge of a local chapter of Starfleet, an international Star Trek Club. We are constantly busy raising money for Ohio food banks and for Akron Children's Hospital. We like being a part of the community by making appearances in parades and other events.

How would you describe Cuyahoga Falls Library?

A home away from home. I've grown up in this library, but I also feel that many of our patrons feel like we're almost family for them too.

ACME Community Cash Back

We are once again participating in Acme Fresh Market's generous Community Cash Back program. Save your Acme receipts dated September 18, 2014 through February 4, 2015, then drop them off at our circulation desk. The library will receive 5% of the Cash Back amount printed at the bottom of the receipt!

Read to the Dogs

October 4, 11, 18, 25 at 11 am

Children in grades K to 5 are invited to read to our amazing troupe of certified therapy dogs. First come, first served. Children will read to a dog for approximately 15 minutes.
