Handbooks for Students & Families
The purpose of handbooks is to provide consistency and clarity to students, families, and staff. Consistency and clarity are necessary for a healthy, successful school, especially as we work with many unique and talented individuals.
Specific teachers, coaches, and sponsors may also provide their own handbooks, syllabi, and series of expectations. As you have questions with these items, please contact the the adults in charge of these classes and/or activities.
The most important part of any school is the safety and well-being of students and staff.
- Secured access during the school day. Visitors to school must check-in at the main office after they are allowed access through the office doors. All other doors are to be closed and locked during the course of the school day.
- Standard Response Protocol (SRP) is established. This provides a consistent student and staff response to potential emergencies. More information about SRP can be found at this link.
- Closed campus for students during the school day. This includes lunches. We understand that exceptions happen and will work with families when there is prior communication. We discourage parents from calling students out for lunch frequently.
- Minimizing deliveries during the school day. We understand that a parent may wish to deliver food to student for special occasions, and we appreciate this. We discourage this from being a regular occurrence.
- Minimizing student visits to vehicles during the school day. Students that forget a school-related item in their vehicles may check-in at the main office before they are allowed to visit their vehicles.
We appreciate the important part our students, staff, and families play in keeping our school safe.

Supports for Students, Families, and Staff
In prior years, the ICU Database would alert families when there are missing assignments. Starting this school year, PowerSchool will be the only place where student assignments/grades are entered.
We ask that all families ensure they have access to student grades in PowerSchool, and are able to access these on a regular basis.
MTSS
PBiS
PBiS stands for Positive Behaviors in Schools. At Auburn Middle and High School, our students strive to Accept Responsibility and Be Respectful. We help students in multiple ways to accomplish this goal. Students get weekly lessons during Student Family and ARC discussing positive behaviors and interactions with others. Staff are on the lookout for students exhibiting those behaviors daily and give Bulldog Way Cards to recognize the effort. The cards can then be put into a drawing for prizes biweekly. Our students are AWESOME and we can't wait to keep supporting their wonderful behaviors. We will update you monthly about our lessons and student winners.
