For The Betterment of Our Students!
Hello Main Street Family!
Thank you to all who assisted and/or ensured their children completed their Science Fair project! All students in grades 3-5 were required to complete a project. I was extremely impressed with the effort put forth by our students!
School is closed Monday, February 20, 2023 is observance of President's Day. If you are looking for something exciting to do, the Scott Arboretum is hosting a free School Out Winter Wonderland event from 9AM - 12PM. See the flyer below for full details. School will reopen for all students Tuesday, February 21st @ 8:45 AM. Enjoy your holiday weekend.
Our students have been working hard preparing for our Black History programs! Our afterschool black history program will be held in our Tiger's Den Thursday, February 23rd @ 5 PM. Followed by our PreK- 2 Black History program which will take place in our Tiger's Den Friday February 24th at 1:30 PM. Parents are welcomed to view the programs. Space is limited so we are asking that two guest per student attend.
Thank you for allowing us to educate your children!
Have a great weekend!
Main Street Science Fair!
Main Street students participated in our school wide Science fair originally scheduled for Thursday, February 16th. However, due to the large number of students participants, the Science Fair carried over to Friday February 17th. Students in grades 1 and 2, presented class science projects. Students in Ms. Schwind's Autistic support class, showed eco system dioramas they created. Students in grades 3-5 presented their individual projects! Winners will be announced next week. Those students will advance to present their projects at the CUSD Science Fair. I am proud of all of our student participants!
I have been contacted by the Upland Borough Police Department with the following concerns:
- Parent crossing their children on Main Street typically from Castle Avenue, into the flow of traffic
- Parents crossing their children at 6th Street across to McClintock Drive
I am encouraging who drop their children off, to park on Main Street south facing 6th Street to avoid crossing traffic ways.
Please be advised: Effective Tuesday, January 17, 2023, police will be enforcing pedestrian laws on Main Street and parents are not to cross the roadway against traffic.
The safety of our students, parents and families are our utmost concern!
CUSD Technology Usage
Parents and Guardians:
Chromebooks or other technological devices are sent home with students to complete assignments on asynchronous days. These devices must be used to complete assignments given by your child's teacher or teachers. Students may not download games, wallpapers or participate in video group discussions. Please monitor your children to ensure they are not using their devices to participate in any of the above activities. Improper use of technology could result in the student losing privileges of using the school's device.
All students must report to school in uniform everyday!
All adults interested in assisting our students, must submit a child abuse clearance form. You may obtain this document by clicking the link below:
Car Line
Parents:
Please refrain from making u turns in the car line during dismissal. The safety of our children and parents is of utmost importance to us. We would like to move the cars through the line without any disruptions.
