Supt. Gill is often a guest on the Sam Madonia Show but this past week she was the ‘Guest Host' on WFMB from 7-9am. This was an opportunity to share all the great District 186 happenings. Here is what was covered this time:
- District 186 Robotics team with Shane Hansen (LHS Physics teacher) and Amber Sammons (LHS student)
- SHS Band Students - Ben Turner, Hannah Wyatt and Noah Schlosser
- Horace Mann Educator of the Year Awards with Paul Wappel
- AVID at Butler with Tracy Gage and 4th grade teacher Ashley Miller
- Debbie Davis and Southeast Health Science Academy students Marina Rosebrook, Mariah Brooks, Carmen Remolina, Kien Ho
- Leu Baker and Mary Wyman, Disability to Possibility Conference
- Stephanie McCorkle and student, Jefferson M.S. - STEM/PLTW
- Black History Month activities at Jefferson M.S. with Monica Walls-Butler
PARCC - Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College & Career
PARCC TESTING window is APRIL 11-MAY 13, 2016
- PARCC will only be administered in one test block this spring.
- Students enrolled in ALGEBRA I in the middle schools will take the ALGEBRA I test
Reminder: ACT TESTING for students in grade 11 will be held Tues., APRIL 19,
2016. This is at no cost to students.
Parents welcome all!
Parents from many schools worked to welcome community to the tournament, sell Unity T-shirts, and talk about how to be engaged at schools.

Students, parents and others collected donations for St. Martin DePorres Center topping last year's donations.

All parents/families have access to flyers sent home from community organizations, District 186 & your child's school here.
Stay informed this year! District 186 School Board Meetings held on the first and third Monday of each month in the Board Room of the administrative offices located at 1900 West Monroe Street. They are open to the public, on Channel 22 & YouTube.
