What did they Contribute?

-Money, and beginning ad-campaigns for volunteers to help administer the vaccine in Third-world countries.
-Partnered closely with the GPEI.

-The GPEI has sustained Political, Global, & Social propaganda & advertisements to help for the eradication of Polio.

History of the GPEI: (Global Polio Eradication Initiative)

-Established in 1988

-Reduced the numbers of Polio cases by more than 99%.

-Since most cases were children with the sickness, they saved more than 10 Million children.

-Reduced the amount of Polio-endemic countries down to three:

1. Nigeria

2. Pakistan

3. Afghanistan

What is Polio?

Polio is a potentially fatal illness, but the bad part about it is that there are no real symptoms, but some people may develop Paralysis.

It may usually spread from untreated/contaminated Food or water, and other people who have developed the sickness.

The sickness may destroy Nerve cells in the spinal cord, which can cause movement to be harder, or full paralysis of the body.
