Lions Park Paw Prints
Letter from the Principal
Dear Lions Park Families,
This is such a bittersweet time of the year. We are enjoying all the end of year activities while feeling sad about saying good bye to students moving on to Lincoln, students moving away and staff who are retiring or pursuing other opportunities. Thanks to Mr. Shaffer, our staff and our Field Day volunteers for a wonderful day for our students! This has certainly been a year to remember, and I am so thankful to our students, staff and families for all they did to make this a meaningful year despite many challenges. We appreciate our entire school community.
Tuesday will be an exciting day with an award ceremony on Zoom, PTO sponsored fifth grade picnic and PTO Kona Ice treat. We will share a recording of the award ceremony with families, so that the family of any child who receives an award can watch it again together at home. Families of students who have not yet completed a Kona Ice form, received a reminder email today. Students will not be able to enjoy the treat without a completed form, so please check your email and respond if you were contacted.
We will collect Chromebooks and chargers on June 1st. Please make sure to send these items to school that day with your child. Students who are attending the Summer Bridge program, Emergent Bilingual summer school and/or ESY may keep their devices until these classes are over. We will be calling home and asking you to bring them to school if the children turning in Chromebooks don't have the Chromebook and charger, since we need to ensure we have all devices collected before the end of the year. We are collecting Chromebooks from all students not enrolled in the Summer Bridge or ESY programs to inventory, clean, and prepare the devices for next year. Students will still have access to school resources using ClassLink and their Google credentials through the end of July.
The yearbooks have arrived at our school. They have been distributed this week or will be distributed on Tuesday at a time selected by each grade level. Remote students will receive their yearbook at the supply drop off on June 1st if they don't already have it. If you forgot to order, you can still order a yearbook to be shipped direct to your home address. Since it is after the deadline, you will be charged for shipping. Go to www.treering.com - at the top you’ll see “Order A Yearbook” - click on that and enter our school code: 1016141815331643.
It is hard to believe this is our last Paw Prints newsletter. If you need anything over the summer, feel free to reach out. I am in the office until June 30th and back again on August 2nd. The Lions Park staff and I wish a safe, healthy, and fun summer to all of our students and their families. We look forward to seeing many of you back at Lions Park in the fall and we wish all the best to those who will be going to other schools.
Warmly,
Katie Kelly

Technology Issues
Although technology can work well, there are times when it just does not work correctly. Teachers will not be available to respond to emails during instructional times. Instead, please submit a Remote Learning Technology Support form by clicking here. Once submitted, someone from our District Technology Team will contact you to provide assistance.
If you experience a technical issue, please follow these steps to troubleshoot the problem:
Restart the Chromebook (make sure it turns all the way off before turning back on).
Quit any unused applications.
Sign out of an application if it's not working, and sign back in.
Move closer to your internet router if you are experiencing connectivity issues.
Turn off any accessibility features i.e., contrast mode, special cursor that may be set on the Chromebook. These can cause applications to run slow.
