Graduation Information
MCPS Universal Graduation
Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) will honor the Class of 2020 with a systemwide Universal Graduation Celebration on Sunday, June 7 at 6:00 p.m., featuring Jose Andres, chef, humanitarian and founder of World Central Kitchen as the commencement speaker.
The live Universal Graduation Celebration will also feature remarks from Superintendent of Schools Jack Smith, Board of Education President Shebra Evans and video messages from MCPS alumni. The event will pay tribute to more than 10,500 seniors. Produced in collaboration with NBC4, it will air at 6 p.m. on Cozi TV (broadcast over-the-air on channel 4.2, Verizon Fios channel 460, and Xfinity channel 208) and on MCPS TV (Comcast channel 33 and 34, Verizon channel 36 and RCN channel 89). It will also stream live on the MCPS website (https://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/info/graduation/).
The ceremony will be emceed by NBC4 anchor Leon Harris. Replay will be available on the MCPS website and YouTube channel.
James Hubert Blake High School Graduation
James Hubert Blake High School will broadcast our graduation ceremony on Wednesday, June 10th starting at 4:00 p.m. Our ceremony will feature comments from me, a student speaker, several student performances, and recognition of each of our graduating seniors. Week of June 8 Schedule
Material Retrieval and Grade 9-11 Yearbooks
This week our staff will be working on retrieving and bagging student belongings in these areas and organizing them by student. This material will also include any yearbooks that students have purchased. Once we have dates from the school system we will share those with you as well as our plans. Please note that this process will be a drive-up or walk-up opportunity. Students and families will not be entering the building.
