Serving A Meal

Types of Meals
Family style: Food is placed in serving dishes on the table. People help themselves, passing serving dishes to each other.
Plate service: The food is already on each person's plate when it is brought to the table.
Setting the Table
Certain items called tableware, are needed to serve and eat food. The tableware you need for a meal depends on the food you serve and the way you serve it. Tableware includes: Plates, glasses, flatware, table linens, and other dishes.
Basic Table Manners
Table manners are really a matter of courtesy. They make everyone more comfortable so the meal is more enjoyable. Remember to use good table manners every day, not just on special occasions.
Clearing the Table
After everyone is finished eating, it's time to clear the table. Stand to the side of each person as you pick up dishes from the place setting.
Safety Rules
Keep your hair back. Always use oven mitts. Clean grease and bits of food off oven.
Sanitation Rules
Wash hands for 20 seconds. Clean cuts by running under warm water. Clean up spills immediately.
WHY I THINK IT IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW ABOUT SERVING MEALS, SAFETY AND SANITATION
I think it is important because it is polite. Also it could save your life. You could also get very sick. Overall I think that you need to know these to be liked and survive.
