Dear Everitt Families:
Xin Nian Kuai Le! Happy Lunar New Year!
We had our monthly grade-level meetings this week. Each month, we celebrate students in each grade level who have consistently demonstrated one of our LABS traits (Leadership, Achievement, Bravery, Strength) throughout the month. Our January winners and a description of what the students did to earn the awards can be found below.
At our 6th grade meeting, we looked at upcoming events and behavior expectations at these events. 6th grade received 8 awards (see the list below). We watched a 3 minute news report on a sixth grader who demonstrated kindness at his school.
At our 7th grade meeting, Officer Mallory spoke with our students about appropriate use of technology and internet safety. Our 7th graders are focusing on leadership during the month of February and talked about what it means to be a leader.
At our 8th grade meeting, we had a special guest speaker. Everitt alumni and current Wheat Ridge High School student Hugo Reinoso-Fallico talked with our 8th graders about how to be successful in high school and how to use the last semester of 8th grade to prepare yourself.
We also had our annual PTA Soup's On event. Ms. Letendre and some of our wonderful advanced orchestra students provided beautiful music as we dined and our families enjoyed looking at an art display by Ms. Woodbury and our art students. Members of our community made amazing soups and other delicious things in crockpots and we all enjoyed a lovely evening together. Thank you to all the chefs, musicians, and artists!
Thank you for supporting and believing in your neighborhood school. It is our privilege to partner with you!

Attend a Life Saving Training. Just as people trained in CPR help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to:
- recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis
- how to ask someone directly if they are feeling suicidal
- how to refer someone to help
This session will be delivered with parents and caregivers in mind. While the information taught in this training is applicable to all people of all ages, we will spend extra time focusing on how this applies to the youth in our lives.
