Thank you for a great Fall Festival, Team Hearne!
Meet Ms. Mosquera in 2nd Grade!
1. Why did you want to become a teacher?
My mother and my uncle were both teachers, I grew up seeing them teach, so the interest grew in me at a very young age, when I was 4 or 5 years old I had a classroom already, all my students of course were my dolls and stuffed animals, they didn’t learn, but I had fun teaching them everyday.
2. What wakes you up in the morning excited to take on another day?
My commitment to make a difference in kids’ lives is my fuel.
3. What is your favorite memory from adulthood?
My graduation day! After so many years of school, I could finally start teaching. My proud mom’s face was unforgettable.
4. Who do you call on when you need help?
I call my husband, he is a teacher too, so we support each other and turn to each other for help
5. When I am not at Hearne, I am…Cooking, reading, relaxing, practicing yoga and meditation or working from home.
Meet Mrs. Hamilton on the Interventionist Team!
I’m in a line with family members that serve others in education and the medical field. We serve. Each night I go to bed thinking about what I had done with my students the hours before and reflect on how I can make their experience with me a learning one. I think about what I can tweak , what I won’t do again, or who needs to be in a different group. I’m a believer in Jesus Christ and I seek His guidance in whatever I’m doing. I’m not always obedient to Him, but I try to do the best that I can at what I do. When I’m not at Hearne, I like to work in my backyard garden, trying to coax something to grow.J
Perfect Attendance for the Week of October 30th!
There were no classes with perfect attendance this week. Please encourage your students to come to school consistently.
Meet Mrs. Salarda in 4th Grade!
1. Why did you want to become a teacher?
I did not realize that I wanted to be a teacher, until I started my internship. I loved the feeling of being accountable for these students, being the other adult in their lives to motivate and encourage them to do better.
2. What wakes you up in the morning excited to take on another day?
I am just thankful for another day that I am alive to spend with my family, friends and colleagues. Tomorrow is not a promise! I embrace what ever the day brings me.
3. What is your favorite memory from adulthood?
My favorite memory would be, when my siblings and I were still single and have dinner together every night and just talked about anything for hours.
4. Who do you call on when you need help?
My best friend for life, my amazing husband!
5. When I am not at Hearne, I am…with my family. We love to dine out, stroll in the park, walk in the mall and eat our favorite dessert, chocolate mousse cheesecake!
Behavior Management Strategies from Mr. Martinez
On November 16, 2017 I will be offering a professional development session called “Behavior Management for General Education Teachers.” If you are a General Education or Block Teacher who has special education students enter your room, I highly suggest attending this. We will explore behavior management strategies to help your room run as smoothly as possible. Lastly, we understand it is right before the break, so for those who participate, you will have a jean pass on that day. J I hope to see you there!

4. Who do you call on when you need help? My husband, family, and closest friends.
