Mountain View High School Announcments

We hope that you all were successful and are acclimatting to the beginning of the year. We are glad that we got to see some of you at materials check in and of course on our screens.

If you are having issues with your chromebook, please contact Victoria Troup at (970) 613-7813 or OR Robin Williams at (970) 613-7859 or

Thompson School District has partnered with One2One Risk Solutions to provide optional accident and loss protection insurance for families for our district Chromebooks. Registering with One2One and purchasing a damage waiver will protect families from the full cost of repair or replacement for your district-issued device and limits your responsibility to a per-occurrence deductible (see below).

The protection plan cost is $15 per device and covers the device through the end of the school year against accidental damage, cracked screens, fire, liquid damage, electrical surge and loss/theft (a loss/theft claim requires a police report for coverage). First incident has a zero deductible, second claim on the same device will be a $25 deductible, and the third claim will be a $50 deductible. A loss/theft claim without a police report will require the replacement cost of the device (this varies depending on the make/model of the device). If families want to take advantage of this optional insurance, please visit and select “Enroll My Device” to get started. Open enrollment ends on September 30th so don't delay. Again, this is optional. Families are not required to get this insurance. This is only for Chromebooks, we have a 3-year warranty on iPad damage if it happens in its case, but no loss protection for iPads.

Technology Community Forum

Thompson School District will present a Technology Community Forum for Families on Thursday, September 24th from 6:30-7:30 pm. Comments and questions are being collected in advance using the online form at This form will also be open during the forum. You can view the forum at the TSD Youtube channel at

New Addition to MVHS

Do you remember the cottages in front of the building? They have been replaced by this new outdoor classroom.

We are excited to get a chance to use it.

Model United Nations

Model UN or MUN is a special kind of debate competition that places students into the shoes of the global negotiators whose policy decisions affect everything from armed conflict and nuclear weaponry to economic sanctions and trade agreements. If you're interested in real world issues, debate, and intense competition then this is the club for you. This is an esteemed club recognized by all the Ivy League Colleges as well as international schools and looks good on all college applications.

Interact Club

Do you want to help others? Do you need community service hours, or just want to network with other youth and adults? Do you want to improve your chances for scholarships? These are all good reasons to join Interact Club. This year, even remotely, we will be making hats, dog toys, and masks.

Speech and Debate

The MVHS Speech and Debate Team is a perfect opportunity for students interested in improving their public speaking skills, debating relevant topics, advocating for issues that matter to them, acting out hilarious or heart wrenching scripts, and making friends! Team members can compete in a variety of individual and group events, including debate, interpretation, informative speaking, and extemporaneous speaking. There are nearly a dozen opportunities to compete each season, from local meets to the National Tournament. But the best part? You will make lifelong connections with teammates and coaches who are there to help you grow!

The Team meets Tuesday/Thursday after school from 4-6pm. Email a coach to get invited to our google classroom.

Coaches: JD Jacob and Lilly Wadding

Come Join DECA and FBLA!! What is DECA and FBLA? DECA as well as FBLA are business clubs that give real experience not only the aspects of business but also how to conduct yourself in a similar setting. In the club we travel to different colleges to compete against other high schoolers in “role plays” that force you to think on your feet as well as create a solution to your given problem. On top of this we do many fun events. The commitment is very small as we meet every other week, and have 2-3 actual events for each club. Come to our next chapter meeting September 16th at lunch! Come join us to just learn more about the clubs. If you have any questions or are interested reach out to Mr. Kaufhold at or Ms. Bley at

Knitting/Crocheting Club

Why Should You Join MVHS Knitting/Crocheting Club?

Once you get beyond the initial learning curve, knitting and crocheting can lower heart rate and blood pressure and reduce harmful blood levels of the stress hormone cortisol. But unlike meditation, craft activities result in tangible and often useful products that can enhance self-esteem.

If you are interested in joining please fill out this form:
