Celebrating 20 Years of Excellence
I hope that our students enjoy the long weekend and are able to catch up on some much needed rest. Classes will resume on Tuesday, 2/16. While our students are relaxing on Monday, CHHS teachers will be engaged in a professional development that is designed to enhance instruction and the delivery of important content to our students. Teachers will be collaborating and sharing best practices so that every student has the opportunity to learn and grow. Our campus is committed to continuous improvement in all areas and none more so than designing meaningful instruction that prepares our students for college and future careers.
Please enjoy the long weekend!
How has AVID helped you become a successful CHHS student?
AVID is definitely the advantage that every determined student strives to acquire. Having participated in the program these past four and a half years has unleashed newfound potential within me that I would never have figured imaginable. One of the most prominent aspects that the course has to offer is the notion that learning and discovery never cease in the impact that they have upon an individual. Being supplied and encouraged to implement in my academic life a variety of study techniques, organizational skills, methods of in-depth thinking, collaborative concepts, and so many other abilities has influenced me to become the student I am today. Such abilities have allowed me to maintain a fervent sense of confidence, knowing that with AVID, my dreams have the intention of transforming themselves into goals that I will certainly see come to fruition in my near-future.

The only students that should be leaving during lunch are those that have to drive to GHS for class or have work obligations through their CATE class and this is verified by the attendance office. Students leaving for lunch will be given a two hour after school detention. Failing to attend detention results in an ISS placement. Multiple violations will result in an ISS placement. Parents are more than welcome to leave lunches up by the attendance office for students.
