Lost and Found
Juneteenth is 6/20
Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States.
From its Galveston, Texas origin in 1865, the observance of June 19th as the African American Emancipation Day has spread across the United States and beyond.
Today Juneteenth commemorates African American freedom and emphasizes education and achievement. It is a day, a week, and in some areas, a month marked with celebrations, guest speakers, picnics and family gatherings. It is a time for reflection and rejoicing. It is a time for assessment, self-improvement and for planning the future.
Great Job Luna!
I am grateful to everyone for welcoming Luna and helping her through the process.
A special thank you to the Zaza family for providing this unique resource to our school.
JH Yearbooks for Sale
The Junior High yearbooks are in. Please see Mrs. Hayes rm#501 during advisory in the morning to pick up your book. If you did not order a book the cost is $25.00.
Checks are made out to Massena Central School. There are only 30 extra books to sell. Once they are gone we will not be ordering additional books.
Logan Dobbins + Student Council Discuss Accomplishments
The accomplishments have been great and varied. With the return to school and decrease in COVID items the children initiated:
- Halloween dress-up days
- Spirit Weeks
- Dances
- Integration of Luna
- Egg Hunt
- so many more other items!
During this meeting the student council supported the creation of the JH Honors Society (85+ club) and an application for grant funding to initially support the club.
Beach Day was a success!
Several teachers and children went to the Massena Town Beach where they enjoyed one of the few beautiful days that happened last week.
We are grateful for our transportation department, food service department Massena Recreation, and Mrs. Trimboli for helping this to be possible!
I am in the process of applying for a grant to help provide some funding. If you are in support of this event please take a moment to indicate your support here or below. I am confident that demonstrating parent support will help our application so we may have a possibility of some funding to provide options for such events!
High School Band Members Talk with 8th Grade Band Students

Great job students and staff!
Over 50 students have received notes home outlining their positive contributions to our school community.
The form to nominate those going above and beyond is on our website or located here!
Something is concerning-
If people see/hear something, say something. Situations we have heard of we have handled.
The below form which is also linked on our website is one way to do that.
All concerns expressed to the school are thoroughly investigated and appropriate action is taken. We cannot do something if we do not know about it. It is a service to the entire community when items are shared.
We are all in this together and we all have the same goal. Thank you for your support!
Breakfast/Lunch
Doors open at 7:15 am for children getting breakfast. Please see this VIDEO for information about breakfast.
Children do need their Schoolbucks account number to get breakfast and lunch.
This links to the current breakfast/lunch menu!
A big thank you to our amazing cafeteria staff who helps this to be possible!
Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help your student or your family. We have so many great things happening at school.
If you have ideas, questions, or concerns please email azullo@mcs.k12.ny.us or call the school 315-764-3720.
