Keller Rotary Raises Quarters to End Polio Now!

On Saturday, April 18, at Keller, Texas Town Hall, The Keller Rotary brought together kids, parents, grandparents, community organizations, and Keller residents to donate to their initiative of "A Mile of Quarters.

The Rotary's goal was to raise at least a mile of quarters to be laid along the walking trail at Keller Town Hall.

The first annual event raised $5,000 in quarters, with !00% of the proceeds being donated to Rotary International's End Polio Now! Only two countries remain with cases of polio, and until it is eradicated world wide, there is always the possibility of infections in other countries.

Weighing in at 241 pounds, this amount will be matched by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation 2:1, which means $15,000 to eradicate this terrible disease.

With that match, we saved $5,000 lives!
