ATTENDANCE
If a student is not in attendance for an a.m. or p.m. live teacher-led meeting, they will be marked absent. If absences occur regularly, the teacher will be required to check-in with the student at least twice per week and keep a two-way log. Families will be notified if two-way logs will be used for attendance. Keeping track of communications, via the logs, will help support student learning in lieu of the Face to Face (F2F) time. The check-in information must be logged into our student information system as part of the attendance requirement. This two-way accountability piece is put in place at the state level.
We realize there have been some issues with connectivity and are not marking students tardy or absent if the concerns are wide-spread. If your student is being marked absent often and you feel it is due to connection issues, please notify your student's teacher or call the Torrey Hill office.

After-hours Assistance Is Available For Your Student! PLEASE CONTACT US!
The staff at THIS are committed to providing robust academic support to our students and families to ensure they have a successful and positive academic year.
Recognizing that students and families may need additional academic support outside of normal school hours, Mrs. Giddings, Academic Interventionist, will be providing virtual support to our students and families. She will be available by appointment at varying hours during the afternoon and early evening. Her ‘office hours’ will be posted in the THIS weekly newsletters sent out by the classroom teachers. If you need assistance outside of the posted hours, please contact her and she may be able to accommodate your needs. We ALL want to make sure your student receives the help they need.
To reach her, please email: cgiddings@lakefentonschools.org to schedule a meeting via phone or virtual chat. Please let her know your student's name, teacher name, grade level and subject area of need.
