On February 18th, we worked on evaluating our mid-year TLT goals and determining what our next steps for the rest of the school year will be; based on our work with field testing and cluster during the first semester.

Our first book club meeting was held at the Essen Haus on February 9th from 4:30-6. We had a great discussion about the first two chapters in the Leader in Me book and connections to Waterford. The next meeting will be at Katrina's house on March 1st from 4:30-6. I am asking that each individual attending the book club meeting bring a snack/appetizer. We will be discussing chapters 3 and 4 as well as making plans for the March staff meeting where the book club will lead the staff in a discussion about our vision for Waterford. Please RSVP and let me know if you plan on attending the book club meeting that evening so that I can plan for enough seating that afternoon.

The Master Scheduling Team will be meeting on February 29th to "hammer out" the draft schedule for next year. (The "draft" will then be shared with the staff during the March staff meeting.) The scheduling team will be facilitated by Kristy this year. The following staff members have agreed to be on the team: Allie, Laura, Lindsay, Stacie, Jan, Gary, Marisa, Kari, and Gail. Kristy will be sending out a survey to the staff about this years master schedule in order to get input for her team as they work on February 29th. Today’s Focus: Sustained Excellence

“Success consists of a series of little daily victories.”
– Laddie F. Hutar

Reflections to Guide Your Journey

How often do you take time to stop and reflect on the small successes of the day?

How do the small victories add up over time to significant, lasting achievements?

What metrics do you use to create meaningful, quantifiable, short-term goals?

The section of the teacher contract that provided language related to teacher transfer requests was not included this year, due to the changes in the collective bargaining laws about what could/could not be included. However, our past practices will remain “in-tact”. Teachers who are interested in requesting a transfer should submit a request in writing to Tammy Ummel by March 1, 2016. As has been past practice, those names and interests will be shared with principals. Teachers interested in transferring should also make contact with building principals where and when desired vacancies occur, as they are posted.

Teachers currently on Leaves of Absence for the 2015-16 academic year will soon be receiving a letter from the human resources department asking them to declare their intention for the coming school year.
