Dear EUSD Families,
I would like to extend a warm welcome to all of you to the 2021-2022 school year! Whether you are just joining our EUSD family or you are returning, we are so excited to begin the year together. It is hard to believe we are starting the third school year that has been impacted by the pandemic, however, we are taking some valuable lessons and knowledge with us as we start this year. We have gained the greatest appreciation for our time together in person with students and families. We have successfully crafted and implemented safety protocols over the last 18 months that have continued to shift to meet the needs of our students and staff. We have learned that our students, families and EUSD team are resilient and that we all care deeply about the health, safety and success of our children.
We recognize that although we are able to create a more typical school environment this year with a regular schedule and events returning, we are still very much in a pandemic. Therefore, we will continue to be vigilant with safety protocols required. We want our students and staff to be able to successfully navigate the year and that starts with clear and consistent safety expectations and procedures. We also understand that there are varying views on things like the facial covering requirement. We ask for your help and support as our top priority is to keep our students and staff in school safely.
Our site principals are sharing specific safety procedures with families this week. Additionally, our COVID-19 Plan Brochure is attached below. You will also find the updated FAQs created from questions posed on the previous google form and/or questions that have come up in various forums for school districts posted on the current communications tab of the website www.eusd.net.
We enthusiastically look forward to welcoming our students back to class on Tuesday, August 17th for a sensational school year.
Warmly,
Andrée Grey, Ed.D.
Superintendent
