PRINCIPALS MESSAGE/ MENSAJE DE LA DIRECTORA
We have wrapped up the 2nd quarter and are ready to begin our 3rd quarter strong. Report cards will be coming home on Tuesday, February 2nd to students who attend in person and students who stayed remote will receive them by mail. Please review with your student these indicators of performance and effort. Celebrate the positive gains and improvements. Recognize and strategize areas for needed improvement. Your encouragement and guidance is key.
I would like to take the opportunity to ask that all parents and guardians please make every effort to have their children to school on time. Also, if students are leaving early or have a change in their transportation, please send a note with changes to the school in the morning.
As always, thank you for your support and dedication to Prince Ibraham Elementary If you have any questions, concerns, suggestions, or praise, please contact the office at 336-703-6771.

Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing the central role of blacks in U.S. history. The event was the brainchild of noted historian Carter G. Woodson and other prominent African Americans. Since 1976, every U.S. president has officially designated the month of February as Black History Month. Other countries around the world, including Canada and the United Kingdom, also devote a month to celebrating black history.

HEART HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH/ MES DE CONCIENCIACIÓN SOBRE LA SALUD DEL CORAZÓN
As you all may know, February is Heart Health month. To help bring attention to heart health let's all try to:
1) Get moving 60 minutes a day, five days a week
2) Pledge to put into place TWO good nutrition practices (i.e. Drink more water, eat more fruit, eat more vegetables) a day for the 28 day challenge-Feb 1- Feb 28.
3) Wear red on February 1, 2021.
Why do we wear red?
The first Friday of February has been designated by the awareness campaign, Heart Truth, as National Wear Red Day ® in the United States. On this day, men and women are encouraged to wear red as a symbol of their support of women’s heart health. According to the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (N.I.H.) in the U.S, Coronary Heart Disease is the “#1 killer of women in the United States”. The day, which was first observed in 2002, aims to bring national attention to this fact, and to raise awareness of women’s heart health.
WINTER HAS ARRIVED
While greeting the students each morning we are noticing that many students are not appropriately dressed for the season. Many students come to school without gloves, hats, and in some cases, coats. Please make sure your child is dressed for the weather. Students often go outside for short walks and activities; therefore, it is essential that they wear proper clothing to school.
INVIERNO A VENIDO
UGH!
Please consider washing your children's jackets, hats, book bags, lunchboxes, etc. and help us fight the spread of all of the germs that are running around our schools. You may want to wipe items with disinfectant wipes if washing is not recommended. This can help keep all of our children and teachers healthy!
If your child does become ill, please do not return them to school until they have been fever free (100.4 or less) for at least 24 hours and/or they have not vomited for at least 24 hours.
We truly appreciate your help in keeping everyone healthy and in school!
