Happy New Year!
As you are reading this, my hope is that your holidays were filled with the love and support of family and friends, you are healthy and happy, and you are entering the new year with joy in your heart!
Each year, I like to reflect on the positive outcomes of the previous year. As you have all experienced, 2020 sure presented a challenge to this positive perspective. There were many days that finding the silver lining became another task. However, I have seen some amazing things this year and have come to cherish those large and small moments of joy we often take for granted. My goal is to focus on the positive. The more I look for those moments, the more I will see.
This year I witnessed:
- Teachers working tirelessly to change everything they have known about education (really, overnight) in order to reach students.
- Students helping adults learn about technology that is ever changing and helping one another navigate a new way of learning.
- Parents, neighbors, and friends sharing ideas, computers, and space to adjust to our changing world.
- Every single employee in the school stepping up to adjust to those changes and offering ideas with the sole purpose of helping our students.
- Parents and guardians fully engaged in the educational process and working with educators to make this new experience productive for their children.
- Large companies and corporations providing opportunities and resources to aid in our educational pursuits.
It is often easy to get frustrated and angry at this situation; but after the tumultuous year we have experienced together, I have come to realize we can accomplish anything if we work together. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do to help your children, me, and the Academy grow and succeed.
I look forward to a positive and productive 2021!
