Senior meeting, yard signs, caps & gowns and more
Spring Lake Park High School Seniors and Families:
We are just days away from May, which means graduation for the Class of 2022 is quickly approaching. This week, we have a few important updates for our seniors and families. Find these updates and information on senior activities and events at SpringLakeParkSchools.org/Graduation
This week, here are a few topics we want you to be aware of:
- Senior meeting and sign distribution is Friday, May 6, 2 p.m.: All seniors should attend this meeting in the Fine Arts Center to get important end-of-year and graduation information as well as updates on prom and the senior all night party. In addition, thanks to the Panther Foundation, we will be providing each senior with a free yard/window sign at the close of this meeting. Signs will also be available for pick-up in the front office after this date.
- Cap and gowns distribution is Friday, May 20, 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.: We will distribute graduation caps and gowns during the school day on Friday, May 20. Seniors will be able to pick up and/or purchase their cap and gown and any additional honor cords or tassels they may be eligible for. We will provide more information to our seniors during their first senior class meeting.
- Photo opportunity: Graduates and their families will have the opportunity to come to the high school to take graduation photos. We will host these opportunities Thursday, June 9 and Friday, June 10. This includes the option to have a professional photographer take your family photo on the field in Panther Stadium. Families who choose can purchase photos from the photographer. More details, including signup information, will be in a future update.
- Photo submission: We are asking seniors and/or their family members to submit their favorite photos from this school year for a potential graduation slideshow. Photo submissions should be from school events, activities, athletics or any school-related function. Please send photos to communications@district16.org for consideration.
- Decision Day, Friday, April 29: SLPHS will be celebrating your students plans for after high school graduation. Whether they are attending a 4-year, 2-year, tech school, military or straight to the work force we will celebrate the incredible work they have done over the past 13 years. Have them wear their gear and bring any banners. We will do a photo opportunity and post on our website and social media. If your student is PSEO or online full time, send us their photo to jblaid@district16.org to be included.
Watch for another update in a few weeks as we blaze toward the end of the school year and our celebration of the Class of 2022.
