Peek at the Week
Week of 6/9/16
Keeping Kids First this Week!- Setting the Social Emotional Tone!
I appreciate everyone's efforts to keep our students first. Jumping in to help with supervision as needed, supporting your students with the numerous transitions, using our patience and empathy tools (and all of our tools!) with each other and our students will help. Knowing that they/we might get confused and not always be in the right place where they/we are supposed to be is to be expected.
Just like us, kids manage stress differently. You know your students very well at this point in the year, please put their needs first so they can end the year on a positive note. The boxes will get packed one way or another!
Camp Glenview Schedule
To insure that everything goes smoothly, Linda and I have put together a long comprehensive plan for the week. Please read through it!
You received a hard copy on Friday and a soft copy via email today.
ALL TEACHERS NEED TO HELP WITH NOON SUPERVISION AS WELL AS THEIR REGULARLY SCHEDULED YARD DUTIES SO THAT THE CAMP "STAFF" GETS BREAKS - PLEASE CHECK FOR YOUR TIME IN THE CAMP PACKET!
Community Gratitude!
Many of our parents are busy working folks who opted to spend their Saturday helping us schlep garbage, sift through closets that haven't been opened in years, carry e-waste, clean out that scary teacher's lounge fridge, box up books, and take down maps and whiteboards in every room.
In all my years in education, I have never seen so many parents just jumping in to some, frankly, unpleasant tasks and being willing to give up so much of their free time to support their child's school.
GOAL: DONE BY 6/10
The school will not be open the weekend of June 11-12.
