CAHOOTS 2021 Summer Program
Parents, Community Education is pleased to again be offering CAHOOTS, a K-5 summer math and language arts correspondence workbook program.
The program is portable, flexible and designed to closely match our district curriculum through an engaging and reflective approach to learning. After completing each lesson and checking answers online, students complete an assignment reflection and send to a CAHOOTS Buddy who will send a written response back.
It is recommended students work on the grade level they will be entering in the fall (i.e. 1st grade is a review of kindergarten), to review and reinforce skills learned during the school year. Please discuss with your child’s teacher, if you feel another level may be more suitable.
CAHOOTS should not be considered a replacement for participating in summer school, if your child qualifies. CAHOOTS is not intended to replace regular reading for enjoyment or math activities that strengthen your child’s fluency and love for math.
To enroll, visit this link. Search for CAHOOTS and our school name, and select the appropriate grade level for fall 2021. If you are unable to enroll online, please call the Community Education office at 651-423-7920. The enrollment fee is $43 (for math AND language arts) and final registration is due April 2, 2021. If you miss this deadline, please call Community Education at 651-423-7924.

Message from our Site Council: Silent Auction
This year has brought many challenges and changes for our Shannon Park students. Site Council is continuing on with the tradition of classroom baskets as part of our Silent Auction. The Silent Auction is one of our largest fundraisers of the year and relies on support from our families to be successful. This year we will be holding the entire Silent Auction online beginning Wednesday, May 19 – Sunday, May 23 . Our classroom baskets will be available to bid on online along with all our other donations!
Silent Auction Information
The Site Council will be collecting business donations, gift cards, tickets, experiences & more for our annual Silent Auction. This year's auction will be held entirely online and we need your help making it a success! Please take a second to consider if you, a grandparent, neighbor or even employer could donate the following: Tickets (concert, theatre or sporting event), Experiences (hotel stays, timeshares, ski passes, park passes etc.), Items (handmade goods, electronics etc.) and Gift Cards. Email spbooster@gmail.com by April 30th to arrange pick up or drop your donation off in the office at Shannon Park labeled ATTN:Silent Auction.
Classroom Basket Information for the Silent Auction
Classroom Basket Information
Each classroom has been assigned a theme and will create a basket with the donations received. These baskets will be available to bid on online. Please have your classroom basket donations in by April 30. Digital Academy students can drop off donations in the vestibule. If you would like to help by assembling your child’s classroom basket visit: https://shannonparksitecouncil.membershiptoolkit.com/volunteer/71132
Here is how you can donate to your child’s classroom basket:
- Donate New Purchased Items (see basket theme list & ideas below)–donate to your child’s classroom basket based upon the theme assigned, or feel free to donate to any theme listed, all donations are welcome.
- Send in a Cash Donation or Gift Card–This is always helpful as it allows us to fill in with missing items and purchase bigger ticket items that may fit with the theme. Please place in an envelope labeled with your teacher’s name and amount on the outside.
Thank you in advance for your generous support for Shannon Park. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Amy Ubl at 651-245-1859.
