Our Mission Statement
PRAYER
Holy Spirit, You are God. I praise you because you are holy, and I thank you for dwelling in my heart. Thank you for working in my life. You guided me into salvation, renewed my dead spirit, and you opened my eyes to the Truth. Thank you.
Help me to see you more clearly – to recognize your movement in my life. Make me more sensitive to you so I can follow you more closely. Still, I know that I am selfish and rebellious. I need you to help me be obedient when I recognize your leading. I need you.
I ask you for your help and comfort today. You know my pain and anxieties very well. Thank you for praying over me. Help me to rest in your comfort today. Help me to walk in you, the Spirit of God. Grow good fruit in my life. You are the one who produces these in me: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. I cannot live out these things on my own; I need you.
Amen

Eucharistic Revival
Many of you may or may not have heard that the bishops of the United States have announced a 3-year Eucharistic Revival for the Catholic Church. The revival started on June 19, 2022, the Feast of Corpus Christi. "Our world is hurting. We all need healing, yet many of us are separated from the very source of our strength. Jesus Christ invites us to return to the source and summit of our faith: his Real Presence in the Eucharist. The National Eucharistic Revival is a movement to restore understanding and devotion to this great mystery here in the United States." At Holy Trinity we celebrate the Mass as a school community each Friday, Holy Day, and Wednesday. Parents are always welcome to join us. In addition, the entire school has an opportunity on Fridays to pray with the Blessed Sacrament. We also invite parents to join us for Eucharistic Adoration during our school time or during scheduled Adoration. It's truly an amazing time with Our Lord.
The Good Samaritan
We know the story of the good Samaritan, about the priest and the Levite that passed by the man who was beaten and wounded on the road, but yet crossed to the opposite side. The Samaritan however, treated the man’s wounds, and went out of his way to make sure he received the care and healing he needed. After telling this parable, Jesus asked the scholar of the law, to whom he was talking and said,
“’Which of these three, in your opinion, was neighbor to the robber’s victim?’
He answered, ‘The one who treated him with mercy.’
Jesus said to him, ‘Go and do likewise.’"
We have heard this story countless times. But how does that affect our daily living? How do we treat people with mercy? It may look like asking someone you don’t get along with how they are doing, and really mean it. Maybe it is doing a task at work that you don’t enjoy, but it will give someone else reprieve. Maybe it is being fully present to a conversation when you are exhausted, or you aren't fond of the person with whom you are conversing. Maybe it is taking the time to compliment someone instead of inwardly judging them. These are small things, but they make all the difference. Mother Teresa said, “If we judge people, we have no time to love them.”
Few people know who lives in the apartment or house next door or down the street. Perhaps we occasionally smile or wave, but our neighbors largely remain strangers. Perhaps there’s fear that if we know the neighbors, they may need something from us. It might involve forming a relationship, and those take work, time, and energy. Or there are grudges and irritations festering from some not-so-neighborly incident years ago. It’s time to get over it. Someone in our neighborhood, in our parish community needs us to reach out. It may take a special request for God’s grace to bravely knock on a door, offer cookies, home grown produce, or the offer to pray with someone. We need to dare to be thought crazy for going against a culture’s individualistic mentality that keeps people apart.
What would our lives, our world look like if we were always merciful, always loving, even in the smallest of things? If we cannot live out these small ways of mercy, how are we to be present and ready to serve in the big ways like the good Samaritan, to get up close and personal with the messiness of other’s lives? Live out your days with confidence in God’s love for you. Recognize that each day is a gift in which your life can make a difference by the way you choose to live it.
Blessings,
Mrs. Longden

Promise to Protect, Pledge to Heal
The Archdiocese of Milwaukee is committed to maintaining safe environments for children to learn, pray, and grow. Our Safe Environment Office supports our parishes and schools and maintains the compliance of our archdiocese in our Promise to Protect, Pledge to Heal.
Every priest, deacon, parish or school staff member, teacher and lay minister that is employed by a parish or school and any volunteer working with minors in our archdiocese is required to meet three requirements:
1-Attend a Safe Environment Education Session. This is a child abuse and maltreatment prevention program that must be attended in person. The current curriculum taught in this session is Circle of Care by the Archdiocese of Omaha.
2-Pass a Criminal Background Check. This check is done at the start of employment or beginning volunteering with minors and must be done every five (5) years subsequently. The criminal background check is conducted through the CMG Connect portal. The criminal background check reports are reviewed and certified through the collaboration of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee Safe Environment Office and parish/school Safe Environment coordinators.
3-Sign the Code of Ethical Standards for Church Leaders Link to Code of Ethical Standards. This code of conduct provides volunteers and employees with expectations and guidelines for how they interact with and conduct themselves in ministry. This code must be signed prior to beginning volunteering or working in a parish or school and is reviewed every five (5) years subsequently.
As Catholics, we are all tasked with participating in ensuring that every child is able to feel safe in our parishes and schools. In addition to our safe environment requirements for adults, the Archdiocese of Milwaukee requires all parish religious education programs and Catholic schools to provide instruction on personal safety and abuse prevention in age-appropriate lessons for all children in grades kindergarten through twelfth grade enrolled in their programs. Parishes and schools are required to annually report their compliance with this requirement.
We invite you to explore what we are doing at the archdiocesan level, at the parish level, and what we ask of every adult in our parishes to do to help us maintain a Safe Environment to remember our past, protect our present and hope for our future.
2022 Mother of Perpetual Help Novena
Mark your calendars and join us for Exposition & Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament and a novena to Our Mother of Perpetual Help at Saint Michael’s Church on Mondays at 7:00 p.m. for nine consecutive weeks. August 29, September 5, 12, 19, 26, October 3, 10, 17, 24. This is an opportunity to adore our Lord in a special way and to ask His Blessed Mother to intercede for us on our behalf. Even if you cannot make all the nine dates, please join us when you can and feel free to bring a family member or friend with you. Members of other parishes are certainly welcome.
