Blaze Bulletin
Edition 28 - March 13th
Greetings...
Dear teachers,
Words from the elementary students as they came in the auditorium lobby this morning to watch Charlie Brown:
"Wow this is huge!"
"Look how big the kids are"
"Look at those banners"
"Do you know my brother?
"My mom works here!"
"It smells good in here!"
"I'm going to school here!"
Wide eyes, smiles, anticipation.....those are the images from this morning as the BES students came in. And their teachers were frantic and counting and trying to maintain a single file. I love elementary kiddos, and I appreciate that we got to have them here to see their future - a future they see as limitless! Thanks, theatre teachers and cast!
"You're a good man, Charlie Brown! You're a prince, and a prince could be king! With a heart such as yours, you can open any doors; you can go out and do anything! You could be king, Charlie Brown! You could be king!"- Lucy van Pelt, Linus van Pelt, Schroeder, Sally Brown

IMPORTANT REMINDER....
GRADES & VERIFICATION SHEETS DUE TUESDAY, MARCH 14th @ 8:30 a.m.
Drill Debrief....
The scenario: a car drove through the front of the school in to the main office. There were injuries in the office. Dr. Justus and SRO's were not allowed to participate in the drill.
The accident scene was quickly secured and halls were cleared with the code yellow. Everyone did an excellent gathering students and locking their doors. Due the localized area, only a few places had to be evacuated/relocated.
It was noted our teachers continued teaching during the code yellow, which is the intent. GREAT JOB! Once again BHS rose to the occasion and came through with flying colors
Instructional time....
MUST READ....
Grade books must be updated weekly. Remember, an average of 2 grades per week should be recorded. Parents and students must have a current view of their students progress.
Daylight saving time will begin at 2:00 AM on Sunday, March 12th
A brief history
Ben Franklin was only kidding when he suggested 232 years ago that towns should employ the use of church bells or cannon blasts, if necessary, to wake citizens at sunrise so they could take full advantage of sunlight – a thrifty alternative to pricey candle power.
More than two centuries later, the joke's still on us.
MAKE A NOTE....
Counselors will be at Blackman Middle on Monday, 3/13 & Tuesday, 3/14 registering 8th graders. Please do not send any students to Guidance.
