Parent Teacher Conferences - 3/16
The purpose of parent teacher conferences are to connect and collaborate. It's a conversation to build trust and work together as a team.
A great quote from Brene Brown in Rising Storm for all of us to keep in mind during our conference "life is better when I assume that people are doing their best. It keeps me out of judgement and let's me focus on what is and not what should or could be"
This is a great opportunity to bring in your Summer Camp & Alumni Reunion Enrollment Form, 2016-2017 Enrollment Form and Kids Stuff Book payment.

Creating Calm Tip #1: Full Attention
Go for a walk, following your child's pace and interests.
As I sat drafting this newsletter, I found myself ignoring my daughter, Eva as she tried to share her day at school with me. I stopped and gave her my undivided attention for only 5 minutes. Then went outside for a few minutes to kick a soccer ball around with my other daughter, Mia. What a huge difference that made in our evening routine - drama free.
Peace Corner: Love Light Explained
The children are blossoming into citizens of the world. We have talked about our bright “Love Lights” that lives within all of us.
Every human being has a light within himself or herself that fills our heart with love. This love is called our "Love Light". When we are especially excited or happy or proud, our love lights shine brightly. We told the children that sometimes we can see their love light shining out from their eyes when they feel happy.
When we feel sad or hurt our love light grows dim. This can happen when people say unkind things to one another. The good news is that light is still in our hearts and we can see our love lights still shining, just not as brightly.
The Love Light Necklace will serve as a reminder of how important it is to treat one another with kindness so we don't make someone's Love Light dim and that we try to live each day in ways that brighten the lights of those around us.
