COMMUNITY

GRANDPARENTS & SPECIAL FRIENDS DAY is Friday, February 1st. We can't wait to welcome your child's grandparents and/or special friends on campus! In case your child will not have a grandparent or friend able to join us, Middle School students will be available in each classroom (PK3-5th Grade) on Friday to serve as a "Special Friend". Due to the LARGE number of anticipated visitors, this is a Grandparent/Special Friend event ONLY. We would love to have parents on campus as well, however we do not have the parking space or seats in chapel to accommodate everyone. We appreciate your cooperation in making this special day just for grandparents and friends! Please consider dropping off your visitors and picking them up at the end of the event to avoid parking issues. THANK YOU!

Grandparents & Special Friends Day Schedule

8:15 AM - Chapel Service at St. Stephen's Sanctuary (Doors open at 7:15 AM)

9:15-10:00 AM - Classroom Visits/Campus Tours

10:00 AM - Coffee Reception for Guests in Buddy Low Dining Facility

SPIRITUALITY

Evidence of JOY - our virtue of the month - around campus.....

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

Several of our faculty have volunteered for training on iBooks Author. Available from the Mac App Store, iBooks Author is an amazing app that allows the user to create beautiful multi-touch books for any ios device (iPad, iPhone, Mac). With galleries, video, interactive diagrams, 3D objects, mathematical expressions, and more, these books bring content to life in ways the printed page never could. Teachers will be able to create class books, books on specific units of learning, or develop a lesson or course for publication. Upon completion, the books will be published to iTunes U and can be downloaded for free. We are grateful to our technology team and to lynda.com for the six hours (at least!) of instruction required to master this program. Our faculty and staff prove over and over again that a commitment to lifelong learning is essential to teaching in the 21st century. And, in addition to that... LEARNING IS FUN!
