I hope everyone had a fantastic summer, and got to make some fun memories with the kids!

My family escaped the heat, and went to San Diego for a little bit. We had a great time on all the rides at Knott's Berry Farm where my kids rode the crazy roller coasters, and I went on just a few (I seem to have lost some adventure for rides as I get older...).

Summer School at WVE was a great success, and our students made growth in reading & math, all while learning some fun enrichment skills!

This summer, we have been planning for some new ways of helping all of our students with strong instruction in homeroom, with different interventions throughout the day, and have been working on new ways to connect more with our families. It's going to be a great year, and I can't wait to see our students again!

School starts at 8am, and gates open at 7:35am. Students may not be left at the gate before staff members are out at morning duty.

Parents may walk students to their classroom for the first week and a half of school (8/2-8/11). When the 7:55 bell rings, teachers will collect their classes from the playground, and the school day is starting. Parents must exit campus at this time.

Starting 8/14, parents will have to sign in at the office with a photo ID in order to be on campus.

If you have a child who will just be starting Kindergarten, don't forget to register them at the office! Pick up an enrollment packet, and return it with the required information (birth certificate, immunization records, parent/guardian photo ID, proof of address).

Our office is now open Mon-Fri, 7:30am-4pm.

Save time later- fill out your lunch application now for the upcoming school year! All families should complete a new application, even if you did last year. Only 1 application needed per family in FESD.

Lunch pricing is $1.60 for students (and $2.85 for adults if you'd like to eat lunch with your child).

Water refill stations & drinking fountains are all around campus. Sending your child with a water bottle ensures they are never without a quick drink of water! And don't forget to write their name on it!

The Champions program is expanding in our district, and will now be at 2 schools (Sun Canyon & Fowler Schools). FESD will provide transportation to WVE from the Before School Program, and from WVE to the After School Program.

If your child will need to take medication at school, please bring it (in the prescription bottle/box) to the Health Office. Children may not bring medication to school themselves.

Also, if your child has a Chronic Illness, and may miss school often due to an illness or condition, ask the office or Mrs Reyes about a Chronic Health Form.

Learn a new skill, or continue to grow in a field you've worked in before! Keep the same work schedule as your kids! Our school is looking for Instructional Assistants!

No more shoes full of sand when the kids get home! This summer, they replaced the sand with a rubberized surface on the elementary playground!
