ENRICHING STEM OPPORTUNITIES!
Week 2
STEM Week 2 Optional Opportunities
Please continue to use the optional STEM activities from Week 1 to increase your knowledge in Astronomy. This week we are focusing on Zoology and Marine Biology as we visit sites from the SHEDD Aquarium in Chicago, the Natural History Museum in London, the New England Aquarium in Boston and the American Museum of Natural History in New York. This week you can learn how baby endangered African penguins are being rescued, rehabilitated and released and you can visit the Natural History Museum of London to learn more about an incredible egg laying mammal! Be sure to visit the live weekly scheduled as well as past virtual field trips at the New England Aquarium in Boston to learn more about sharks, lion fish, moray eels and more interesting marine animals! If you so choose to do please email me pictures of your child with his or her written work and/or illustration or just the illustration from last week and this week's STEM opportunities! They will be used on the school's social media pages.
Thanks and have fun!
Ms. Tammy
PreK 3 and PreK 4
Hi Parents of PreK children!
Please use these links to read to your children about high interest information on animals and to view some really cool virtual field trips and videos. There are several for you and your child to choose from. Please be sure to discuss what you have read and viewed and I am suggesting your child pick a favorite animal or two and draw a picture of the animal with you recording or your child writing a sentence or two about what he or she has just learned. Please email me if you have any questions and and if you like send me photos of your child's creations to use on the school's social media pages.
Thanks,
Ms. Tammy

Please use these links for your child to read or you to read to your child about high interest information on animals and to view some really cool virtual field trips and videos. There are several for your child to choose from. I am suggesting your child pick his or her favorite animal he or she has learned about and illustrate this animal and depending on his or her abilities write a few sentences or a paragraph explaining why he or she chose this particular animal as a favorite. A main goal of these activities is to keep children reading, increasing vocabulary and discovering topics he or she will want to explore further! Please email me if you have any questions and and if you like send me photos of your child's creations to use on the school's social media pages.
