?! Riddle of the Week ?!
Vision trumps all other senses.
- Vision is by far our most dominant sense, taking up half of our brain's resources.
- What we see is only what our brain tells us we see, and it's not 100 percent accurate.
- The visual analysis we do has many steps. The retina assembles photons into little movie-like streams of information. The visual cortex processes these streams, some areas registering motion, others registering color, etc. Finally, we combine that information back together so we can see.
- We learn and remember best through pictures, not through written or spoken words.
Brain Rules by John Medina
With what resource do we learn and remember the best?
Please click the link (button) above to see the explanation of our campus expectations. We use tickets to reward positive behavior of students. Students may use their tickets to purchase items and attend a reward activity every 6 weeks.

Braveheart of the Week #Superhero #ThePowerofOne
Braveheart Award for this week goes to..... Ms. Puente!
Thank you Ms. Puente for everything that you do!
Ms. Puente does a great job of meeting our students needs. She establishes good relationships with students in the classroom so that they are comfortable to learn and grow throughout the year. She is willing to help out where it is needed and always helps us with translating as well. She is easy to work with and a great team player!
I appreciate Ms. Puente for being a superhero to many. Thank you for your positive impact you have on students and staff at GIS.
Bravely leading students to see their WONDER.
Thank you Ms. Puente - we appreciate you! (4th and 5th ELAR Bil)
