Chequamegon North Board Report
September 2020
Monthly Report to the Chequamegon School District About the Glidden Campus
Chequamegon Middle School & Glidden Elementary School
We Were Prepared! The 2020-2021 School Year started out safely and well organized.
Starting off on the right foot!
The Chequamegon Middle School and the Glidden Elementary School had a fantastic start to the beginning of the school year. Although we come crossed weekly or even daily updates that need to be made as we reinvent education at Chequamegon North, they are all "small potatoes" and easily fixable. A huge help in starting the year smoothly was the amazing work of the faculty and support staff. I couldn't ask for a better team to work with during this time. It is such a treat to see students in the hallways, teachers instructing, and a sense of refreshment as we get our students back to doing what we love most, teaching and learning in the classroom! Thank you to everyone for their hard work as it continues with the daily twists and turns of this amazing yet unusual school year.
Passing times have been staggered to limit the amount of students in the hallway during transition times. Passing times are also split between odd and even lockers in order to assure spacing in the hallways.

Creativity at Its BEST!
Art Room Classroom Rules
Mrs. Josi Birchmeier used her art specialty to use a work of art to communicate classroom expectations.
Ingenuity in the Science Room
Taken as an idea from a student in Mr. Kilmore's science room, the paper towel roll for sanitizing desks after a class is dismissed was mounted onto a paint roller allowing only the teacher to hold the handle as sanitizing supplies are used.
GES Teachers Couldn't "Mask" Their Excitement...
Glidden Elementary teachers are so excited to have their students back in the classroom that they were unable to mask their excitement, even taking to the trampoline in this bulletin board to jump for joy!
Thank you!
We would like to give a huge thank you to all of the community members who used their time and talents to create masks for our students. We are truly thankful to be able to accommodate a variety of different needs for our students with sizes, shapes, and varying designs to ensure appropriate covering of the nose and mouth. Please take a look at the unique designs of the split band masks and coverings shown below.
Mask & Bell Cover
The split mask allows students to wear a mask while allowing the instrument to still be used. A bell cover helps with breath particles from escaping out into the room.
Small to Large Masks
A first-grader shows her mask made specifically for our younger students.
Mask & Bell Cover
Another mask and bell cover being worn to help keep students safe while enjoying one of their favorite classes at Chequamegon Middle School.
