Calvin Coolidge

30th U.S. President, Republican

The Coolidge Administration

Calvin Coolidge and Warren G. Harding were elected as a team in 1920 with Harding as POTUS and Coolidge as VP. The pairing worked for a small amount of time, until Coolidge grew tired of Harding's laid back manor of running the nation. In 1923 Harding unexpectedly died leaving an eager Coolidge to take office as President of the United States.

Economic Policy

Coolidge was known as "Silent Cal" because of his calm, frugal, and quiet manor. However, when it came to Coolidge's Economic Policies he roared with the confidence and care for the needs of the American People. Coolidge came in and fixed the very corrupt and disproportionate administration laid before him by President Warren G. Harding, and in the process gained the popularity he needed to become successful.
