"EVERYBODY DIES,
BUT NOT EVERYBODY LIVES." -DRAKE
Here are a few ways Katelyn Vega stays out of bed and spends her time :)
ART
One thing that I find occupies my time the most is art, like drawing and painting. I've always drawn and I find it very relaxing and stress relieving! I feel like I'm in my own world when I get really into it. I could spend hours just working on one project and be content the whole time. (On the side is a scanned page from early 2015 sketches !! It's really good to look back at your old work to see improvement!)
1. FINDING A HOBBY
One way you can avoid "sleeping your day away" is to find a hobby you really like and stick with it! Two hobbies that I feel really strongly about it art and singing!
SINGING
Singing has always been such a great pastime for me. My dad, aunt, and grandma have such amazing voices and I love singing to myself trying to get to their level! I'll spend some time working on a song trying to perfect it then I spend a little more recording, then just like my art I can use the recordings to see my progress and see how my voice has changed! Other than my family my biggest inspiration right now is probably Miguel. He's an R&B singer and just like me is half Mexican! He grew up about an hour away from me too and I think it's the best seeing people like you do so well. But anyways singing is a great way to spend your time !! (On the side is a picture of Miguel honestly he's so great and i think anyone who wants some new music to listen to should go check him out)
HEALTH
One of my goals is to be healthy! This includes physical and mental health. What I do physically to achieve these is first eating healthy. I try to keep my meals and snacks as healthy as possible by using the most raw ingredients I can in my meals. The other way I do this is exercises and this goes for physical and mental health! exercising is so good for your body (to an extent) and it releases enzymes in your brain that make you feel better! Living with some of my mental illnesses this really take a toll and makes me feel a lot better some days when I'm feeling a bit icky. By exercising and getting up to make my meals I am keeping myself out of my bed and turning my body into the best it could be!
2. SETTING GOALS
Another way you can spend your time is making goals and reaching them!! Two of my goals are becoming the healthiest I can be and keeping my room nice and tidy. But your goals can be anything really, as long as it gets you out of bed and doing something :~)
HOUSEWORK
One of my biggest pet peeves is when my room is messy and out of it. That being said i tend to let it get pretty horrendous (like right now) so i try to give myself a good hour or so to really clean. Normally once I'm done with my room I get this boost that makes me want to clean everything like my bathroom, and my sibling's rooms. This gets me going for at most 2 hours if I really put my mind to it keeping me out of bed and getting things done!
FAMILY TIME
Spending time with your family and bonding with them is an amazing way to spend your time. These days it's like no one has time for there family but when you do it can be so good for you. My family is pretty big so when we get together me and my cousins like to play board games (mostly monopoly) and we play for hours until we finally come to a winner or someone has to go home!
3. MAKE PLANS
The last way you could get out of bed is to make plans! Whether it's with your friends or family it's always nice to catch up and spend time with the people you care about!
FRIEND TIME
When me and my friends get together we just chill at each others houses or go out to the movies or to get food. It's so fun making memories with friends because some of them can be almost as close as family is so giving each other the chance to make these memories and sharing the time together is very important to me.
