How to make a rainbow cake

Ingredients for the cake
1 cup unsalted butter, room temp
2 cups sugar
4 large eggs, room temp
3 cups all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
Finely grated rind of 3 limes
ingredients for rainbow food coloring
Red - 350 grams
Orange - 300 grams
Yellow - 250 grams
Green - 200 grams
Blue - 125 grams
Violet - 75 grams
Orange - 300 grams
Yellow - 250 grams
Green - 200 grams
Blue - 125 grams
Violet - 75 grams
ingredients for the glaze
Juice of 3-4 limes
3/4 cup powdered sugar
3/4 cup powdered sugar
step 1
Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.

In a stand mixer with the paddle attachment, cream the butter with the sugar until light and fluffy.
step 3
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
step 4
Add the flour mixture in three parts, alternating with the milk in two parts. So flour, milk, flour, milk, flour.

Add in the lime zest.
Part 2 - Making the rainbow cake mix

Put in red first, orange
step 7
Next is yellow
step 8
green is after
step 9
then blue
step 10
and last is purple or violet
step 11
when all of this is done put into the oven for 45 minutes in 350 degrees
