Coyote News
January 2021 Newsletter
Dear Carver Coyote Parents & Guardians,
Your partnership has been invaluable! Whether you are working at your own places of employment or your homes, your support has been incredible as we collaborate to educate every child. We want you to know that we wouldn't be able to do this without you!
Car Riders has been going smoothly because of you, thank you for being patient, arriving on time, not too early, and never late! Student, staff, and parent/guardian safety is HUGE and you are working with us to ensure that we are all taking this seriously while you are in the line and either dropping off or picking up your child. Thank you!
This year our Valentine card exchange will look a little different but we encourage all the students to participate. We wanted to share this information with you ahead of time so that you can plan accordingly.
- Please remember that we will continue with our no food policy, this includes candy. No food should be brought in to school to give or to exchange, even if it is store-bought and pre-packaged. These are all part of our COVID guidelines.
- Valentines should be brought in to school the week before Feb. 8. This will allow the valentines to be untouched for at least 4 days- this is the same process we are using in our book collection.
For cohort A- Valentine cards are in by Feb. 2
For cohort B- Valentine cards are in by Feb. 5
For REMOTE Classes: Our teachers will provide a digital and paper exchange option.
If your child wants to share/exchange paper valentines, please ensure they are dropped off in an envelope labeled with the teacher's name no later than Feb. 5th. A drop off/collection bin will be outside the school under the awning.
Please call the school or connect with your child's teacher if you have any questions. We appreciate you patience and support.
Does Your Child Need Social Emotional Support...
Times have been tough, kids are going through some ups and downs to say the least.

We encourage all our friends and families to join this valuable session for parents and caregivers. Here is what you will learn:
Coach Kristie from Dovetail's Learning center will explore the We Are Resilient™ approach from the perspective of a parent/caregiver and learn how to strengthen personal and family resilience. Through virtual small group exercises, you will learn more about what might be getting in the way of your resilience– your protective patterns and your cultural patterns. You will also practice simple, effective, research-based centering skills. These six-week sessions provide an opportunity to learn about yourself and learn from others in a supportive environment.

MASKS FOR STUDENTS
Mask Care
Please remember that students should wear a clean mask each day. If a student's mask becomes soiled or wet during the school day, they will be provided with a replacement mask and their soiled mask will be sent home with them to be laundered.
How Should We Take Care of Masks and Cloth Face Coverings?
- Wash any worn masks at least once a day, or more often if they look dirty. If the manufacturer gave any special directions, follow them. Use the warmest settings on the washer and dryer that's safe for the material.
- It's OK to put your mask in the washing machine and dryer with your other laundry.
- Don't share masks unless they're washed and dried first.
- Don't store your mask with other people's masks. You can store each mask in its own clean paper bag or hang each one separately on a hook. (for the full article, please go to: https://kidshealth.org/en/parents/mask-care.html)
