Family Newsletter for Washington Elementary
Principal Post
What a wonderful, wintery weekend we had. I hope the snow allowed you to find time to enjoy the joy of childhood, I was reminded again about why I love Washington Elementary School. It began with a new family who shared that one of our staff members had convinced her to consider attending Washington because we "do not leave children behind, we find a way". What powerful a reputation if we are known as the school who serves ALL children, no matter their need. It's not an easy task to know each student and who they are, how they learn, what their family culture is like, how they approach challenges, and how a relationship can nurture their innate strengths. That leads me to the second reminder I received today. A teacher at our school shared how her school is not just her employer, but it is where she comes to find growth, friendship, encouragement and most of all a family. She said, "I can't imagine my life without GWES". We are certainly blessed to learn, grow and serve each other. Your family is an important part of that. Thank you for sharing your children with us each day, most certainly, we feel called to serve them and find great satisfaction in doing so.
