Husky Update

Second Issue- September 1, 2022

Hello Hollencrest Families!

Thank you for your support in launching a successful start to the new school year!

Students were engaged, attentive, and participating in all classroom activities. Also, students were following all rules in place to keep our campus safe and healthy! Please see the reminders below, including the reminder about our early-release Wednesday bell schedule.

Thank you for reading!

Back to School Night is Thursday, September 8th!

Please join us for our Back to School Night on Thursday, September 8th, beginning at 6:00pm. Next week, your student will bring home an information sheet that has their class schedule filled out. Parents will follow their student's schedule according to the bell schedule listed. Our ASB students will be available to help you find your classes and campus maps will be provided on the information sheet.

Prior to classroom visits, PTSA will be holding a meeting at 5:30pm in the cafeteria. If you are part of our ELAC or G.A.T.E. communities, please see the times and locations of those meetings listed on the schedule.

We can't wait for you to hear all about the wonderful things happening in your child's classrooms!

Charge Reminder

This is a reminder to have all students charge their devices each and every night so that they are ready to go each morning. Many of our classes have digital curricula which require students to utilize their Chromebooks on a daily basis, so we want to make sure that all students are able to participate fully each day.

Which books does my student need to bring with them to school each day?

Most students will not be required to bring all of their books with them on any given day, as we have class sets in each teacher's room. However, there are some days when supplemental texts and other books are needed to support classroom instruction. In most cases, the teachers will communicate this need ahead of time. This is one of the many reasons that it is important students utilize their planner for recording assignments, deadlines, and reminders so that they can be fully prepared each day.

There will be no school Monday, September 5th, in observance of the Labor Day Holiday
