Bell Library News
October 2013
Welcome to the library!
It's been an exciting year in the library so far! With lots of class visits, fun activities, and new books, there's been a lot of activity in our space.
Every month, I'll be sending out one of these newsletters to share some of what's happening in the library. To enlarge any of the photos, just click on them!
Making Papel Picada
Students are cutting out beautiful crepe paper banners to decorate the library for Day of the Dead.
Spooky Library
Ms. Infurna decorated the library for Halloween, including a spooky book display and our friend the skeleton, who's brushing up on his anatomy research.
Books, books, and more books!
The library is bursting with new books! Stop by to see our growing collection of fiction and young adult fiction novels. And be sure to let us know if there's a book you'd like to be added to our collection.
New Library Website
The Bell Library website, with its growing number of project and class research guides, as well as access to library databases, is being heavily used by students. Since the site was launched at the beginning of the school year, 1,248 visitors have visited the site 1,901 times (through October 17).
Library Advisory Board
The Library Advisory Board has officially formed! Ten members will be meeting regularly to plan library events, promote the library, and help guide the library's future. If you are an Upper School student who is interested in joining, please get in touch with one of our three heads: Maggie Richardson, Sierra Yanaway, or Kat Kelley.
