Hansen Weekly Update
November 10, 2022
Hi Hansen Students, Parents, and Families!
I hope you enjoy the upcoming three day weekend, and thank you to all former and current members of our armed forces. Your sacrifice and courage are honored and respected and please know how much we appreciate you on this Veterans Day!
Here at the Hansen, our students and staff have had a great week of teaching and learning. While we only had three days with students, staff came together on Tuesday for a day of professional learning and collaboration. We spent time building our vision for high quality teaching, learning, and leading, worked with colleagues from across the district to create intellectually challenging tasks, and spent time with our respective departments and colleagues where many of our teachers engaged in math-related professional learning. Teachers are learners, too!
Please enjoy some of this week's highlights below...

Parent/Teacher Conferences - Reminder
Parent/Teacher Conferences are approaching, and we are looking forward to connecting with families! Conferences will be held on Thursday, November 17 from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. and again on Friday, November 18 from 1:00 - 3:30 p.m.
Teachers will be coordinating meeting times with families, and there are options to participate virtually or in-person. Please note, whatever you initially indicate as your preference will be scheduled and families will not be able to change (for example, if you indicate your wish for a virtual conference, you will not be able to switch to in-person). While we do our best to accommodate the needs of families, this creates disruption to our schedules. We appreciate your understanding, and again, we are looking forward to connecting with our families during the two conference dates!
Fall Mini-Book Fair Next Week!
Title I Information Night - Reminder
Please RSVP via the email that you received from Ms. Coyle, our Title 1 Coordinator.
Bus Evacuation Drill - Coming Soon
In addition, we take this opportunity to remind students of our expectations for safety and behavior while riding the bus. Students need to remain seated, with hands and feet out of the aisle. Students need to keep their hands to themselves, and need to be respectful in their language and conversations with peers. Thank you for reinforcing these expectations at home, and please reach out with any questions about our scheduled Bus Evacuation Drill.
