Halloween In The Halls a BIG SUCCESS
Halloween In The Halls was a HUGE success! We want to thank all of the community for coming out to enjoy this family friendly event and hope you had a spooky good time! Thank you to all the staff and students that put in their hard work to create a great evening for our Rocket families. This event would not have been possible without you!
GREAT JOB EVERYONE!
Oak Harbor's Chance Milledge Awarded All American Status
Oak Harbor High School Sophomore, Chance Milledge, has been awarded All American status for 2017 season in the Paralympics for Ohio. Chance was awarded 7th in the 800m and 8th in the 1500m. This is a huge accomplishment for Chance, his family, our school and Oak Harbor Track and Field.

OHHS Participates in CEO Program
What is the CEO Program?
High School Junior and Senior students have an opportunity to earn high school credits for participating in our Career Engagement Opportunities (CEO) Internship Program. The CEO Internship program will provide students with a pathway between school and work. Students develop entry level skills in a specific occupation, practice career management, and prepare for employment all while earning high school credit. Please feel free to contact Andy Ramsey and Kim Coffman if interested in the CEO Program.
The CEO Internship has several benefits:
- Students can earn 1 credit for every 60 hours of internship time
- The internship is flexible and presents a wide-range of possibilities for hours/schedules (i.e. – can be done after school, during school, weekends, etc)
- The internship gives the students an opportunity to “test the waters” of a desired occupation.
If you are interested in learning more about the CEO Internship Program or would be interested in participating to give a student a meaningful work experience, please contact Gaye Winterfield at 419-898-6242 or gwinterfield@ocic.biz.

This week B-C-S is featuring, RC Waters Elementary School Principal, Dawn Bryant
1. What is your profession and how long have you been with B-C-S Local School District?
- I am the elementary principal at RC Waters and this is my third year with Benton-Carroll-Salem Schools.
2. How do you build leadership in your school?
- The staff at RC Waters is amazing, each with their own areas of interest and expertise. My job as principal is to provide opportunities for teacher leadership. This is done primarily through committees that participate in making building-wide decisions involving curriculum, instruction, professional development, and building procedures.
3. What are some of your favorite events that RC Waters takes part in during the year?
- Our Halloween parade through the town is always a big event for the community. We celebrate our 100th day of school each year, and that's always fun for the students. Dr. Seuss night in the spring is a family-fun event. I also enjoy seeing the variety of student artwork at our annual Art Show.
4. What are some of RC Waters biggest accomplishments?
- RC Waters has received many accolades, including National Blue Ribbon School, School of Promise, National Title I Distinguished School, and PBIS Bronze School. But I think one of the best things about RC Waters is the feeling of being part of a family.
5. Where is the most interesting place you have been?
- My husband and I took the kids to Washington, DC two years ago. Learning about our Nation's history and seeing the buildings and museums was very interesting.
