Ribbit Report
Turner Creek Elementary School
July 27, 2018
Welcome to the school year 2018-2019!
Parents, please read the Ribbit Report each week. We ask teachers to read it as well, this is our main form of communication with everyone. This is how you will find out important events that are coming up, like Meet the Teachers and the first day of school. We also remind when track outs are and when tracks come back.
The PTA will also announce what they have coming up and any needs that they need.
It's very important that we are all on the same page. Have a great year everyone!
PTA Membership
Dear Turner Creek Families,
On behalf of Turner Creek Elementary PTA, we would like to welcome you to the new school year at Turner Creek Elementary School. Our Tree Frog community is better by having you all as a part of it!
The PTA is a forum where parents, teachers, and administrators discuss and implement ways to promote quality education, expand the arts, encourage community involvement and work for a healthy environment and a safe neighborhood. The overall purpose of PTA is to make every child's potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. The national PTA motto is "Every child. One voice."
Last year we were able to accomplish many things with your help and generosity, whether it be giving of your time and sharing your talents, monetary donations, or items for our teacher luncheons and Frogaplooza baskets.
We invite you to join the TCE PTA for the 2018-2019 School year. PTA Membership dues help support the programs at Turner Creek that enrich the lives of the students, teachers and families of our school.
Follow us on Facebook to receive updates on the happenings at Turner Creek Elementary
Thank you again for all of your support! We look forward to a productive and successful 2018-19 school year. Be on the lookout for information regarding our "Welcome Back" Spirit Night.
With Gratitude,
Turner Creek PTA

Kindergarten lunch volunteers Needed!
Hello Tree Frog Families! It’s that time of year again.
Little tree frogs are joining our amazing school. Kindergarten is a whole new exciting world for kids.
To help make their transition easier, we are asking for volunteers to help in the lunch room. They will need help typing their 10-digit numbers to purchase lunch, as well as opening food containers etc.
We do ask that you keep in mind the children need to learn independence, so rather than just opening containers for them, you guide them in how to do it on their own for the future.
We also ask that you don’t volunteer if you have a rising kindergartner so that it is not tough on your little one when they must return to class.
Please see the signup below.
GoPlaySave is Here!!!

Track 4 please make sure to check your child’s book bag on Friday, August 3, for the GoPlaySave fundraising packet with a copy of the new book!

What is Girls on the Run?
Girls on the Run is a physical activity, positive youth development program designed to enhance girls’ social, psychological and physical competencies to successfully navigate life experiences. Our mission is to create a world full of joyful, healthy and confident girls acting on their values and opportunities. We envision a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.
Toys, etc. from home
Please check your students’ backpacks, lunch boxes and pockets daily for cards, toys, etc. that should not be coming to school! We have had multiple issues with items going missing that should not have been here in the first place. We appreciate your help
Spotlight on the PTA -- Open Positions
As we begin our school year, there are available opportunities to get involved in the PTA! It’s a great experience and a wonderful way to become involved in your child’s school and meet other parents. It takes many volunteers to run some of the programs and events the PTA offers. Whether you have 30 minutes, 1 hour or 10 or more to give, we can help find a place that works best for you based on your needs and schedule! We even have needs that you can fulfill exclusively from home. We appreciate any amount of time you are able to volunteer. Thank you for considering these opportunities.
Below are a few of the committee openings we have. Please contact president@tce-pta.org if you are interested or for more information.
Reflections Co-Chair: Our current Reflections Chair is seeking a co-chair to help collect and submit student entries for this year's program. Reflections provides an opportunity where students can create and submit original works in areas such as visual arts, music compositions, dance choreography, film and literature.
Frogapalooza Spring Event: We have several opportunities to help with planning Frogapalooza, TCE's Spring event. There are positions that range from serving as the main coordinator over to sending out letters and emails for donations for the Raffle and Silent Auction. Frogapalooza works best when we have many volunteers working together to plan specific areas of the event. Please let us know if you would be interested in helping plan any aspect and we will send more information on the specific duties and needs for the remaining openings. Some areas are already filled!
