HOLY ROSARY SCHOOL
NEWSLETTER | TERM 4 | WEEK 2 | 20 OCTOBER 2023

Hope is not primarily for the future. It’s for now! Hope is a way of seeing time and understanding the present. It’s a way of tasting and receiving the moment. It gives us the capacity to enter into the future in a new way. In that sense, we can call hope true realism, because hope takes seriously all the many possibilities that fill the moment. Hope sees all the alternatives; it recognises and creates an alternative consciousness. That’s the hope of the prophet.

Hi Everyone,
Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for mass this morning, and for the Colour Run this afternoon - quite the day! Thank You to Father Peter who is always so supportive of our school, and thanks to Rose and her P&F Committee for the fun afternoon! Wow!
The Sacrament of Reconciliation takes centre stage next week, with the many children involved on retreat on Monday followed by the sacrament on Tuesday or Wednesday. Our thanks to Trish and Anthony supported by Tegan who have been preparing the children, to the parish for their coordination and to Father Peter for his support.
Everyone is welcome to the P&F meeting on Tuesday 6-7pm in the staff room. This is followed by the meeting involving members of the School Advisory Council. Speaking of matters P&F, please make a point of checking out their newsletter entries. Today's entry reminds everyone about the P&F Facebook page, and - already - invites the community to a movie night in the gym on Friday 10 November. Check it out!
Thursday sees a team from Holy Rosary participating in the Interschool Athletics Carnival. This is a huge and hugely enjoyable event, with the charge led by our teacher of P.E. Rob Flexman
Have a great weekend

Visit from Brightpath Writing Consultants

The Year 1 students and teachers had a wonderful time visiting Kanyana Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre set in Korung National Park surrounded by Jarrah Forest in Lesmurdie.
The students learnt about and came face to face with an echidna, snake, blue tongue lizard, long neck turtle, torney frog mouth, burrowing bettong and various native birds.

Welcome back to a fun filled, exciting Term 4! Banned Books were super fun to look at this week, as well as all the colour and running books ready for the Colour Run today! Rainbow Relaxation was perfect. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIbBI-BT9c4
Thank you to the families who have replaced lost or damaged books over the holidays. If your child has an overdue book, please contact me so we can sort it out before the end of the year.

Hot Tip for State Government Employees
Did you know most State Government departments offer their employees two, paid days of Community Involvement Leave each year?
These days could be utilised well to help in the school canteen without having to use one of your precious annual leave days! Working in the canteen is also a great way to meet other awesome parents and see the kids smiles at lunch time.
To join the canteen fun (it is not hard or scary) please email admin@hrs.wa.edu.au or text Leanna on 0414 953 958.
