Coding Club Begins 9/29

We are excited to start our coding club on September 29th! Our awesome coding expert, Mrs. Carguill, has been busy planning and can't wait to get started! Please continue to check your emails for the latest updates and information. Coding, the language of computers, will be taught to students in a very interesting and simplified manner through different projects and games! This club will be open to students in 4th-8th grade. They will stay after school on Thursdays until 4:30, under EJA staff supervision. If you are interested in your student joining, please sign up using the form below.

MAP Testing Rescheduled

Fall MAP Testing has been rescheduled! Instead of next week, the Conference has informed us that testing will take place September 26-September 29. Next week will be a normal week of school. For more information on MAP, please see the information below.

EJA is excited to offer MAP testing for our 1st-8th grade students. MAP testing is an adaptive, computer based test designed to assess what your student knows. Students will be assessed in reading, language, math, and science. MAP assessments will be given in the fall, winter, and spring and results will be made available to teachers within days not weeks.

This is one of many quality indicators that our school offers parents to improve learning for all students and assist teachers in making informed decisions to promote each child's

academic growth.

Additional Parent Resources

Tuition Updates

Thank you for always working with us to complete your registration and make your payments on time! Just a reminder that tuition is due on the 15th of every month. If you have not yet set up your tuition payment plans on FACTS, you may pay through our CashApp using $Ejapay, and type "your child's name-tuition" in the memo line. Starting next month, we can only accept payments online through FACTS, so please have your FACTS Payment Plans set up by September 30th. If you need assistance, please contact Mr. Paul.

FACTS Online Tuition Payments

Parents, in order to make your tuition payments online, you will need to set up an account on the FACTS Tuition Management website. This is a different account from the FACTS account you used for application and enrollment. Once you create an account, you will need to set up your payment plan for the school year. Please use this link to begin the process: Choose the payment option that works best for you. If you have any questions about the process, please contact Mr. Paul.

For our returning families, you may use the same account from last year and make payments once your agreements have been finalized.

Interim Reports

Thank you so much for taking the time to meet with us this week. We love checking in with our EJA families to ensure our students have a successful year! Remember, you can always contact a teacher when you have questions or concerns. Please check your emails next week for a copy of the interim reports.

Outdoor School Money Due 9/30

Thanks so much for turning in the forms. The conference has informed us that, if space is limited, priority will be given to those students who did not go last year. We will let you know if anything changes. The money ($150) is due on September 30th. You may pay in cash, check (make check out to the school) or cash app $Ejapay (Please state that it is for Outdoor School).

Student Laptops and Accounts

We are so proud of our students for getting through their first Virtual Learning Day! Our next one will be September 30th.

We are also happy to announce that each student has been assigned their new laptop for school. At EJA, we are pleased to offer 1:1 technology for our students, which means that every student is given a laptop for educational purposes during the school year. Students have also received their logins and passwords for their new Google accounts so that they can access Google Classroom, and the Google Suite. Laptops will only be sent home with the students on Virtual Learning Days. Other than that, we will be using them in the classroom. Students are expected to take care of their devices, and will be charged if any major damages occur. Please help your child to keep their laptop in good and working condition this year.

Student Council Elections

We will hold our student council officer elections next month! Students who are interested will need to complete the forms that will be handed out next week. Student council officers will be able to give valuable input on school events, including our Spirit Weeks! It's also a great opportunity for students to participate in student government.

Hot Lunch Begins in October

The staff is working diligently to ensure our menu is all set and ready to go. Please stay tuned for the information and look forward to delicious vegetarian meal offerings coming soon! Thank you so much for your patience.

Covid Reminders

Let's keep working together as we continue to monitor the current Covid situation. Students who show any cold or flu-like symptoms should remain home, and we will work with them to make up their work. Also, continue to keep in touch with us about Covid exposures or positive tests.

We will continue to wear masks at school. Please send your child to school with a clean mask every day. If you need extra masks, of course just let us know and we can provide them.

Great news!! We have at-home Covid tests available at school. If you need a test kit, please let us know, and we will send one home with your child

Spelling Bee 2023

It's never too early to start preparing for the annual Spelling Bee. All students in 4th-8th grade are required to participate. This is a wonderful opportunity for them to broaden their vocabulary and spelling skills. Students have already received the study lists, and there is also a copy included below. Our school Spelling Bee is scheduled to take place on April 5th, and the Conference Finals is scheduled for April 30th.
