February Book Suggestions
Black History Month Books
Super Bowl Sunday Books
President's Day Books
Super Bowl Activities
Use the Super Bowl as a time to do learning activities with your child!
Make a 2-column graph on paper or with painters tape as seen in the picture. Have your child ask each family member (or member of your Super Bowl party) who they think will win. Have them color in the graph with red markers for the Chiefs or teal/green for the Eagles.
When a team scores, have your child practice using tally marks or symbols (i.e. stickers) for each point scored. At the end of the game, add the points together and tell them "___ + ____ = _____ (tally marks)"
Have your child help plan your menu for the evening or your party! Cooking is a great way to build planning and doing skills, language skills, and motor skills.

Safety Corner
Winter Car Seat Tips from the American Academy of Pediatrics
As a general rule, bulky clothing including winter coats should not be worn underneath the harness of a car seat. In a car crash, the fluff in a coat will flatten out from the force leaving extra space under the harness. A child can then slip through the straps and be thrown from the seat.
Tips to stay warm in the cold
- Use a coat or blanket over the straps
- Use a car seat cover ONLY if it does not go under the straps
- Don't forget hats, mittens, socks, or booties
- Pack an emergency bag
What should be in my winter car emergency bag?
- Cell phone charger or portable charger
- Items to stay warm (hats, gloves, socks, extra blankets)
- Extra snacks and water
- Booster cables, flares, tire pump, and whistle
- Extra diapers, wipes, bottles, formula
- Flashlight, extra batteries
- First Aid Kit
- Plastic Bags

STAR Breathing is a great way to practice calm breathing for both adults and children. Use this as a way to calm down when you are upset, model STAR breathing for your child, and practice as a family!
