HFRCS Newsletter SY2021-2022
September 21, 2021 - Volume 1 Issue 5
From the Principal's Office
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we move forward in our school year, we are fine tuning procedures and routines, and smoothing out any challenges. As you may be aware, local school districts are very short staffed with transportation employees and bus schedules are running late almost every day. We continue to work with our local school districts in sharing information as it becomes available to us. Every day, we are working to improve our own drop off and pick up procedures. We appreciate everyone having their child ready when our staff members greet them and open their car door each morning.
In October, we will begin the Pot of Gold Challenge. For those of you who are not familiar with Pot of Gold, it is a fundraising program sponsored by St. Frances Cabrini Parish that provides tuition assistance for families that participate. During the month of October, there is a Challenge for Holy Family families to sell as many tickets as they can on the four Monday night drawings in October. Later this week, you will receive an information packet for the Pot of Gold program and the October Challenge. Please read the attached flyer and get ready to join the Pot of Gold Challenge!
Thank you for your cooperation and support,
Mrs. Haggerty
Teacher Feature: Mr. Oleaga
We are so pleased to feature Mr. Nico Oleaga, “Mr. O” this month in our Teacher Feature. Mr. O is a familiar face in the halls of Holy Family as he has served as a lunch Dad, substitute teacher and last year, a long-term sub in middle school ELA. This year, Mr. O is working exclusively with the Resource Room, assisting Mrs. Yurkanin, and targeting specifically students in the middle school grades. Mr. O will work collaboratively with the Resource Room, classroom teachers, and Catapult staff in meeting the organizational and transitional needs of our oldest students. Mr. O is the proud Dad of two Holy Family students, Amalia and Lenora, and brings a sunny disposition, inspiration and energy to everything he does. Welcome back, Mr. O! We are glad you are on our team! We also want to wish you a belated happy birthday!!!
Breakfast/Lunch Program
Our Lunch Director Mrs. Patricia Prasse is taking her Food Safety Certification on October 8. Breakfast and hot lunch will not be available on October 8 (Friday). Please plan accordingly since students need to bring their own meals. Also, as a reminder, October 5 (Tuesday) is a scheduled day off for the students.
Breakfast and Lunch Menus for September and October are available on the school website. Menu is subject to change at any time. Please check the school website for the latest menu.
