Our Flight Pattern
An End to the Year
6th Grade
- Each homeroom or team will have an end of the year virtual party. Teachers will be communicating when they are and how to get on.
- Virtual Goodbye: each team is working on their own special way to say goodbye to students.
- Students will receive certificates in the mail for academic achievement and involvement in clubs and activities through the school.
- We invited students to participate in a Virtual Field Day. They can create a field day activity at home, take a picture and then post it to their team page (Blue Team, Purple Team, White Team, Gray Team).
- Students will be invited to join a team scavenger hunt. Each team will compete against the other three grade level teams. Your child's teacher will email them more instructions next week.

From the Principal
This is a year we will never forget! The first three quarters were great and will be how you are remembered. I know ending the school year at home was not what you expected. I also know that many of you learned valuable lessons about responsibility, time management, and having to solve problems on your own. The Greene School marks the halfway point. You are just as close to kindergarten as you are graduation. The next half will look much different. Take the lessons you have learned over the past couple of months and use them to make you better. I will always believe in you and I will see you around the district!
Thank you to the amazing parents and the PTO. I know the past two months have required us to adjust to the stay at home order. I am truly blessed to work in this community. Thank you for choosing Sycamore. Your involvement in the educational process is what makes this such a special district. Please trust that we are preparing for your children to return to the school building, whenever that may be. We will be ready to help them get back on track or push further ahead. Do your best to enjoy this summer.
A Message from Mr. Meno
Closing the Year from Mrs. Constable
Thank you for a wonderful 2019-2020 school year! As a new member of the Greene family this year, it didn't take long for me to realize what makes Greene the best of the best! We have amazing students, staff, families, and community members that are "all in" when it comes to making the educational experience for our 5th and 6th graders exceptional. Best wishes to our 6th graders, whom I will miss greatly! I am hopeful that we can celebrate you in person when we are permitted. Fifth graders, I can't wait to see you next school year! I hope everyone has a safe and fun summer and I am honored to be your assistant principal!

Yearbooks
We have not yet received yearbooks from this school year. Our current plan is to distribute them once students return to the school building.
If you are moving...
If your family is moving or planning to move out of the Sycamore District before the start of the 2020-2021 school year, please contact Mrs. Gould at gouldm@sycamoreschools.org. We are currently placing students and if your child will not be attending Greene next year, please let us know as soon as possible. Thank you!
For Rising 7th Graders: Sycamore Junior High Summer Reading
Help prevent summer reading loss by reading a great book! Studies have shown that reading proficiency levels can decrease over the summer. To help lessen the loss of reading skills, students at Sycamore Junior High are encouraged to keep reading all summer. All of the language arts classes at the junior high have summer reading expectations. Assignments and instructions are located in Google Classrooms that students access using their Sycamore student accounts. See below for the Google Classroom codes. All summer reading assignments are due on the first day of school.
Honors Language Arts 7
Students enrolling in Honors Language Arts 7 for the 2020-2021 school year need to use the Google Classroom code fjnujob to access the summer reading assignment and instructions. Students must use their Sycamore provided student account to join the Google Classroom.
Language Arts 7 and 8
Students enrolling in Language Arts 7/8 for the 2020-2021 school year need to use the Google Classroom code h7zzngf to access the recommended summer reading. Students must use their Sycamore provided student account to join the Google Classroom.
