Pilsen Derivas Exhibition Opening
Weekend of Events, Nov. 8 & 9, 2014
Pilsen Derivas (drift), is a collective project that activates a critical review of the historical and urban development of the Pilsen neighborhood, through walking journeys as the main form of research.
Opening reception, public talks and film screenings take place Saturday November 8th and Sunday November 9th at the UIC School of Art & Art History Maker Space at Mana Contemporary on the 5th Floor.
The exhibition will be open for one weekend only! The gallery hours on Saturday are from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Sunday are from 2:00 pm to 5 pm.

Free Film Screening of the "Chicago Maternity Center Story" by Kartemquin Films

Rachel Ettling will offer a Pilsen-inspired spread, tapping local, seasonal fare and the artists' food memories.
6:00 pm
Exhibition Opening featuring works by Eryka Dellenbach, Amanda Cortes, Elaine Luther, Enid Maldonado, Peter Pero.
SUNDAY, Nov. 9th
3:00 pm
Workshop:”Turning Pages in Pilsen: Do Books Matter”. Historian and local resident, Peter N. Pero, will present a workshop on how to build a non - fiction photo book.
5:00 pm
Book signing evening with Peter Pero.
