- Was the pre-service teacher completely prepared and organized?
- Did the pre-service teacher effectively and successfully facilitate the lesson plan in the elementary or secondary classroom?

- Were the elementary or secondary students actively engaged in learning (using technology) during facilitation of the lesson plan?
- What changes (if any) are necessary for better facilitation of the lesson plan?

Lesson Objectives:
- Facilitate lesson in the K-12 classroom under direction of cooperating in-service teacher.
- Reflect upon and summarize the facilitation experience.
- Develop final lesson plan portfolio.
Procedures
1. Complete the final draft of your lesson plan for use in the K-12 classroom.
- It is critical that the K-12 students use technology during your lesson to enhance their learning. This is a major component of the lesson facilitation and you will be graded based upon such.
- your lesson plan and any attachments (if applicable) to the plan
- Lesson Plan Facilitation Rubric.
- Butler ED 222 Letter.
The in-service cooperating teacher will be grading your facilitation of the lesson plan using the Lesson Facilitation Rubric. The Butler ED 222 Letter must be signed by both the principal (or his/her proxy) and the in-service teacher to show that you are allowed in the school and in the classroom.
3. Facilitate (teach) your lesson in a K-12 classroom under the direction of K-12 in-service teacher. The Field Experience must be completed in a Kansas State Department of Education accredited school. This means day cares, churches, and home schools will not meet the criteria for the field experience and observation hours.
4. Reflect and summarize your lesson facilitation experience in a 2-page paper (minimum of 2 content pages, not including the cover page). Include your feelings on the classroom experience, any changes you would make to the lesson plan, how the K-12 students received the lesson, how the in-service teacher reacted to the lesson, etc...
5. Compile the following documents in the Project 6 folder on your computer:
- the scanned, signed Butler ED 222 Letter
- You must scan and save this letter (as a .jpg file) to your Project 6 folder on your computer.
- the graded, signed, scanned Lesson Facilitation Rubric
- You must scan and save this signed lesson facilitation rubric (as a .jpg file) to your Project 6 folder.
- your reflection summary (at least 2 type-written, double-spaced, size 12 font content pages, not including the cover page). Save this to your Project 6 folder.
- your final lesson plan and attachments, if any (worksheets, scanned student samples, etc…). These must be saved to your Project 6 folder.
6. Review the list of required files in the Project 6 Assignment to check your assignment for completion.
7. Zip the Project 6 folder containing the documents listed above (right click on the folder, choose send to, then select zipped/compressed file) and drop the zipped Project 6 folder in the Project 6 assignment in Canvas on or before the due date posted in the syllabus.
Note: Your K-12 classroom facilitation can last for any length of time that you and the cooperating in-service teacher have agreed upon (minimum of 30 minutes).It is critical that the K-12 students use technology during your lesson to enhance their learning. This is a major component of the lesson facilitation and you will be graded based upon such.
Approximate Time Needed
As arranged with cooperating in-service teacher. You should plan to teach a minimum of 30 - 60 minutes. This will vary with the age of the students and the content of the lesson.
Prerequisite Skills
Some facilitation experience; Some presentation experience.

- Any materials needed for successful facilitation of the lesson plan in the PK-12 classroom
Supplies
- Use of computers/technology in the K-12 classroom
- Use of computer to compile reflection summary
- Use of scanner to scan Butler ED 222 Letter (signed) and Lesson Facilitation Rubric (graded and signed)
- Any supplies necessary as prearranged with cooperating in-service teacher
Internet Resources
Any sites necessary for successful facilitation of the lesson plan in the K-12 classroom.
Accommodations for Differentiated Instruction
- Special Needs Student: Extended work time, personnel support from the Special Needs Department
- Non-Native Speaker: Internet sites in the native language, tutoring outside the classroom.
- Honors Students: This class does not have an honors option.
Student Assessment
Assessment will occur through evaluation of the following:
- signed Butler ED 222 Lesson Facilitation Letter;
- graded and signed Butler ED222 Lesson Facilitation Rubric;
- reflection summary (2 pages required);
- the final lesson plan and supplementary documents, if applicable, used during the lesson facilitation.
